Believe it or not it started out as this:

I kept the frame and the tires, threw the rest of the parts on an old redline frame I had and sold that bike off for a little profit, which was kind of the plan originally. I really like the geometry on this frame. It's a 62, I bought a sheet of shiny black vinyl decal material and cut sheets to wrap around the dawes under clearcoat logos, really can't even tell from a foot away. Bikes going to get beat up anyways so whatever.
Wheels are Open Pro ceramics, gold nips, double butted spokes to black 105 hubs (I normally ride on ultegras but vanity got the best of me on this build and went for aesthetics, sue me
)

i would never have guessed that it was a dawes. and maybe my eyes are deceiving me, but the decals on the ceramic open pros look different than before. anyway, nice job!

I did the same race as CrisimKarter21. I wonder how the bike can continue to shift under those conditions. The pulley wheels are a mass of mud and leaves. On the last lap, in the infield peanut butter maze, a rider in front of me just stopped. I guess his brakes must have clogged. That must really suck being about 100yds from the finish line and get passed by a couple guys. It was a fun race in the most part except the one time in 5 laps where I didn't make the bunny hop over the telephone pole, got dumped in a gravel parking lot, ouch!

Humble Frameworks - a small, new framebuilder who does lugs and fillet brazing. This is mostly fillet brazing, with a few lug-like reinforcements here and there.

Chili Con Crosso
Just finished building it this AM. Took it around a neighborhood that's all crush-n-run roads with a creek crossing. Rode splendidly with the exception of a over seated bead on the front giving the tire a wobble to the side and a squeaky front brake.
Build is all SRAM Rival with Ksyrium Elites pilfered from my road bike which is now rolling on a custom Psimet Powertap build. Pedals are probably 10-12 year old Ritchy SPD compatible. Nose of the seat needs to come up a bit I know.
I am not a fan of the Soma sticky bar tape I put on. Same thickness as electrical tape but not as pliable so it gets wrinkly in the bends and has zero cushioning.

This is my old beater homemade crosser that's been around for about 30 years, and just keep replacing stuff as it breaks or wears out. It's based on an early 1970s French Gitane Interclub road frame with added cantilever brake mounts and Campy road rear dropouts with a threaded derailleur hanger. The cranks are Sugino Maxy 40T and the freewheel is a Suntour Winner 6-speed 13-26 with a Suntour friction barcon shifter. Wheels are tubulars with Vittoria Mastercross tires. The BB is an old Phil Wood sealed with French threaded rings. The front derailleur is just there as a chain keeper. Weight is about 22 lbs.

'01 Lemond Poprad frame, built up with Dura-Ace 9 speed shifters, Ultegra front/rear derailleurs, ultegra 12-25 cassette, Easton CT2 seatpost, FSA Energy 46/36 crankset, Rolf Sestriere wheelset, Chris King headset, Ritchey BioMax handlebars, Profile Design Hammer OS stem, Time ATAC carbon pedals. I've got avid shorty six brakes I'm going to install on it soon.
I'm pretty new to cross/biking in general, and started with a stock tri-cross sport triple. I like the bike, but I looked at/rode this one and liked it a lot more. The guy I bought it from raced two seasons, all the components have some wear, but it's light, comfortable, and shifts great. The only complaint I've had is that it feels like I'm riding a hand mixer when I get on the front brakes hard, but I'm hoping the fact that I had the wheels trued/spoke tension adjusted along with the new brakes will help that quite a bit.

Here's my 1989 Bianchi axis pro. All shimano xt w/600 brake levers and BIOPACE rings, ugh. It belonged to my sister-in-law and has been hanging in our garage for nearly 10 years. I took it out, cleaned it up and started commuting on it. I've had so much fun I've decided to build one that actually fits me. This one's a little too big. Everything but the tires and chain are original. It even came with a celeste frame pump.
