Michael, you do not have a paunch in any way, form or fashion The 50+ jersey looks good on you, I am getting miles on my ls 50+ jersey lately. Yesterday was a strange day, weather wise, here. It was raining, warm and muggy all morning then when the front passed through around noon it cleared off and the wind switched to the North and the temperatures started to trend down. Very comfortable ride, 66°F when I rode, got in 15 miles, for 1h 03m 53s, to start the week. Supposed to be a good weather week for us.

Nice weather this morning, even though we have a front coming our way. Cloudy and overcast with temps in the mid 70's. 44 miles for today's ride.

Rode on the "old 7 mile bridge" to Pigeon Key for a tour of the key and then around Marathon Key for a total of 31 miles today. Camping at Curry Hammock State Park for a couple of days before heading to Sanibel for the weekend. The temps in the high 80's life is good!

Only got in 8 mi outside. Spent a lot of time at the mechanics as they tried in vain to get a new cassette to work. Second one that they tried and said must be defective. So, I went back to the (slower) stock gearing. They also checked my rear tire that keeps flatting on me. They changed the rim tape and installed a seriously-thick thornproof tube.

About 20 miles today. Nice and sunny, but cold (28°F), and not much wind. Had my fleece-lined winter shoes, wool socks, and insulated shoe covers but still had to cut it short due to cold feet. I did get to try out my new military-surplus M44 goggles, though, and they were a great help in preventing my eyes from watering.

Great news Mikey, the labs for me were great last week, total cholesterol was 110, LDL was 46, HDL was 64, the creatinine was much better so the progress of the kidney disease has arrested, thankfully. Your A1c looks super!!!

It was more tongue-in-cheek than serious.
Understood, I had to laugh after your line about what your wife told you when she hugged you!!

Got in a quick 16.13 this afternoon, the cool temps are really nice for riding but, the North wind at 12mph is a challenge on the outbound, a nice workout for this old guy.

After a 3 day layoff I rode 15 easy miles between rain showers. Tomorrow is my slightly delayed 70 mile birthday ride; we'll see how it goes with all the climbing involved.

Still having awesome weather here in the south lands. Sunny skies and temps in the 70's this morning for a very nice 44 mile ride. Wind picked up quite a bit before the ride was over and with the steady winds and gusts, it felt like I was riding in a wind tunnel. Hope the winds are calm tomorrow.

This morning's 44 mile ride started off in the mid 70's and ended up in the low 80's. Winds weren't too bad today but we got some overcast toward the middle of the ride. Thankfully, we had no rain.

Did a chilly 41 mi in the hills yesterday. Light wind helped.
This morning, did 25 mi on the bike at the gym, with good resistance, in an hour. Wish I could bike that fast in real life. In the afternoon, after the rain, I rode 26 mi around town.

Did my birthday ride: 70.9 miles, 5300' of climbing and, yes, suffering was involved. The inevitable effect of climbing on average speed, 12.1 mph in my case, can be a downer. On the positive side the weather was terrific.

Memo to self: get the 30t chainring changed out for the 26t that's sitting on my shelf!

Congrats for your b'day! (You made it through another year.)

I don't know about that downer bit. The downer side of most hills tends to make our average speed go up.

Don't be down from that accomplishment, that is respectable time and rate for your birthday ride, to me. Well done, sir, well done.

Got in my regular rides Thursday and Friday, 15+ and 16+, miles, respectively, managed to keep up the 15 mph average with the gusty winds so it was some extra workout as a bonus.

After three 44 mile rides in four days, I decided to take it easy this morning and just do a short ride at an easy pace. I ended up doing a 35 mile ride at a moderate pace. I even got in a few miles with my oncologist who was very pleased that I'm riding six days a week.

I got in 35.1 miles this morning before the neighbors come over for dinner this afternoon. Max speed 33.6mph, downhill of course. Temp under 50F. A lovely late fall day.

Did a tough spinning class in the morning and rode around town in the afternoon, 31 mi on the computer. It was in the 40s and breezy but, also, mostly sunny.
