Decided to get a ride in early today, glad I did. The temperature began dropping and the wind picked up this afternoon, this morning was still mild and low winds. Got in 25 miles that felt really nice after signing off here this morning.

New Dog pancho and hat and gloves for me, it was 25 degrees. But it needed to happen for both of us. Dog wasn't really with the plan after a mile or so.

Great weather today with temps in the upper 60's and an overcast sky for our Sunday Bicycle Group, group ride. 26 miles down to Mac Dill AFB (home of Central Command) and back. Winds were very strong, especially when riding along the bay on the return trip. Good thing for wide bike lanes on that street because the traffic was very heavy and keeping the bike in a straight line was becoming very difficult.

63 km ride on the road bike, rained the entire time, temperature was around 7 C. The Endura "Waterproof" gloves were soaked through about half way into the ride...very annoying. The Sport Hill XC pants, basically kept me dry. Mostly flat except on the way home which is always up...

Did 25 mi around town. It was in the 20s and windy so I needed a couple of breaks inside. On one break, my right pinky was really stinging as it warmed up.

Got in a ride around noon time today, it was 57°F, with North winds at 12 with gusts between 20 and 25. Did 15.1 miles and enjoyed each minute a lot, totaled 104 miles for the week.

Upper twenties today, but sunny and no wind. Out for a 6 mile ride and it felt good.
Recently resumed working out at the YMCA - hadn't been there since last March. Hopeful for a bit more decent cycling days before Winter truly arrives.

No riding today. Temps in the 20's, and WIND. No, make that WIND. Wind chill down in the January range.

Cold and windy with rain for three days. I didn't come to Austin to ride in this, could have stayed in S.D. if I wanted to freeze. I guess my age is catching up to me.
By staying in I did nab a great buy on Craigslist!

Bit of a stormy dawn, DROVE down and shot the sun coming up, home and breakfast...then got Goaded into riding by a VERY Senior local rider (he is the State SENIOR Champ and wins because he trains HARD...and he WANTS IT)..."WINDY days are BEST training days".....my BUTT!!! Sat at my desk, NO WORK....so...10 miles were in order. 32:47, a little off pace. The wind beat me up a bit and made me cry, 7-18 knts, ENE, 66 degrees.

Rode 8 miles yesterday with temps around 18(f). The nice part about trail riding after it freezes-its like riding on pavement albeit rough pavement. The other nice part was not getting shot as it is hunting season around here. I wore a blaze orange hat and vest and kept my fingers crossed! Good that I rode yesterday as we are getting snow today.

An extremely windy morning today. Carpet cleaners are coming to clean the carpets so I only had time for a 30 mile ride before having to go home and move furniture. Wish I had time to do one of my regular rides as I would have broken the 8,000 mile YTD mark. Guess it will have to wait until Wednesday.

Not today - 37F and raining at noon. Hopefully later this week once all this weather gunk moves through. Then hopefully I can post a "yes I rode today" message.

I got in a short really cold 20 minutes on my heavy knobby tired winter bike. I enjoyed it... but mostly I was just a bit too cold... particularly my hands. I dug out my ski gloves this afternoon. Tomorrow.... I try again. This winter cycling in freezing temperatures is new to me.

Tomorrow we head off on a day-long train ride to visit the family for the weekend. Riding isn't likely but I'll take this opportunity to wish you all a happy Thanksgiving, no matter where you are.

This is my favorite American holiday and favorite time of year. I try to be thankful every day. I'm thankful for good health, peace, friends, family, security, and everyone who serves our or any society toward those ends.

Stay safe. Be thankful.

Rode this afternoon when I got home from work, the stress release was very much needed and appreciated. I got in 15 miles between the storms and showers ahead of that huge cold front that is dinking up the Thanksgiving travel everywhere. It was kind of cool and, a drizzle was falling, too, 51°F and a North wind that was steady at 11 mph with strong gusts at times. No problems, though, the riding was super and I felt much better afterwards.
