Rode my usual 15 odd miles this afternoon in absolutely beautiful weather. It was another blue bowl sky day, 65°F, very low humidity with a slight NNW wind, made for a fantastic workout time. I pushed things a bit since it felt very good out. Worked the hills for all they wee worth and loved every minute of it. I hope everyone else had as fantastic a ride as I did today.

Was chilly because of the strong winds and open space where I rode, but the sun was shinning. Only did 30 miles but got to try out my Showers Pass Elite jacket. it blocked wind better than I expected - better than my SP Transit. Breathing was better too.

Was good to get out - I haven't had a chance to because of travel and the weather - but it sure beats the resistance training I have been doing!

I rode what I refer to as my Time Trial Route. It's 21 miles with about 500' of gain and loss, and only one stop light on the whole route. It was raining and in the 40s, so I rode my mountain bike which has Nimbus road tires. I just can't bring myself to drag out my road bikes in this weather. I found that using the mountain bike for winter training on wet days (the majority of the winter in the Pacific Northwest) pays off really well when the weather dries and I can ride the road bike. It is sort of like running with legs weights.

Haven't ridden my bike in 3 days as I'm waiting for a part; been using the bikes at the gym for now.
Today is the end of the first 2 months that I've logged my mileage. I have 1,877 miles for the 2 months and I'm glad to say most of those miles were hilly or fast so I know I got some good exercise.

Temperatures reached into the 40's here today. So after nearly a month of cycling only on the mountain bike... I aired up the tires on the road bike and got a nice little 10 plus mile ride in.

Getting out regularly on the mountain bike has really helped me acclimate to the cooler temps.

That's a great fitness ride! (...a little chilly for me.)

You always find a way to bring a smile to my face. I didn't realize Florida had any "hills".
I did a couple of Floridian hill repeats this morning while waiting for a friend. I rode the ramp on a 2 storey parkade.

Amazing mileage - I just checked my mileage for the YEAR, and its only 2500 miles. And I thought I was doing good. Keep it up and you'll be needing a new bike by spring!

67 miles from Frederick, MD, up to and around Thurmont and Camp David. I thought maybe they were having a Thanksgiving Weekend up there, because Park Central road that goes past the presidential retreat was closed, but then I saw the FF was doing some small-business-shopping in DC during the same time. Who knows? The alternate route up Rt 77 and on Foxville-Deervile Road was also nice. Verrrry cold for this time of year. My Garmin showed it getting down to 24 degrees at one point. Never got above 34. Thankfully there wasn't much wind. Great ride, but I was coooooold....

Where was everybody? With those temps wouldn't you usually get a few more folks out?

I made the mistake of forgetting that the smiley face after the word "Hills" is implied for me sorry about that one The rollers here can give you a workout though, you top one and think you can use the downhill to recover but you need to use it to build up for the next one that is most likely steeper, somehow. Anywho, it is my story and I'm sticking to it. and unfortunately my HR tends to believe the hill part.

All the younger riders pace line at 18-24 mph.

We slow.

We get um on miles.

Dave has 10,300, me 7,000

This Saturday starts the weekly 100 milers with 4000' of climbing. The group size varies depending on the weather. Hope to do as many as I can. It's a terrific way to build base miles. I usually wind up solo after a while as I'm just trying to burn calories.

Frozen gravel and hardly any ice makes for perfect sunday riding on 2.4 Racing Ralph's on a my FS bike. Great weather around freezing. Met another rider on a cx-bike and thought about warning him about some icy patches I just passed but got a bit tonguetied when I saw the Skyclothes and a smiling Boasson Hagen nodding my way.

Very flat 33 miles, 16.4 mph average. Nice to have a windless day for a change. Just cool enough to need leg/arm warmers, short sleeve base and short sleeve wind vest.

Rode 25.46 miles this afternoon, cool temps for NW Florida, 61°F with a NNW breeze, humidity is slowly coming back up ahead of the rain and the next cold front. Not a bad day for riding at all, the families were out putting up their Christmas lights this afternoon. The area is well lit up now, very pretty to look at.

Forgot to post yesterday. Had a very nice and windy 50 mile ride with my buddy Frank. Started off with temps in the 60's and ended with temps in the low 80's with skies going from sunny to heavy overcast. Good thing there was no rain with the overcast skies. Today is my no ride day for the week so I guess I'll be doing a few honey-do projects.

I finished up a number of my "honey do list" items so my wife and I got in a one last 32 mile ride on the Withlachoochee Rail Trail today. Even got the bikes cleaned for their 6 - 8 week vacation while my surgery has me sidelined for the rest of the year. All in All a very good year our final total was 8264 miles….. I don't know if I can really put the bike away for the whole 6 - 8 week period……bummer

Hope your surgery goes well and is uneventful for you, you will be in my prayers.

I got another 25 miles in yesterday, nice day as it has warmed up a bit ahead of the rain and another cold front out of the NW. Had some wind from the WSW that wanted to play around with me a little but nothing to write home about.

Not yet today. But I did yesterday - and also joined the BF50 on Strava. Should keep me motivated during the winter...
