Why would you add high vis orange to camo?

^^^^^ The "C-word" effect - if the bike has so much as a crank bolt cap that happens to bear the marque, it's automatically worth four digits minimum.

You couldn't pay me to own another set of those wheels. Most frustrating tire installation/removal I've ever experienced.

Has this been discussed before? They've been reposting this bike for years for $15,000 "(nonnegotiable)"

Everytime I see it I'm a bit annoyed, a bit perplexed. It seems pretty far to go for a troll.

I have a set of the Ambrosia rims that I am fixin' to build up with Campy NR hubs. They were take offs from a bike that I bought for parts. The wheels were clearly built by an inept amateur - wrong size spokes, tension too loose (and very inconsistant) so I planned to just disassemble and sell for parts (but that never really happens, does it). I had heard that the rims were difficult so before I took the wheels apart, I tried mounting and demounting a selection of tires that I had. I was surprised that they weren't all that difficult, requiring only my thumbs to mount. I know what's going to happen, though: I will go to the trouble to build them up and then find it impossible to mount tires. Stay tuned.

The owner clearly does not want to sell it. He or she certainly has 4 figure into it but the asking price definitely would provide an obscene profit.

Very nice looking bike (ok looking model, presumably not included) -- how is one supposed to shift the SA-5 igh?

They need to work on the focus of the first photo, as nothing is in focus. The wall?

My guess one could friction shift the IGH fairly easily, although it might be easiest to just add a SA 5 speed bar end shifter.

The bike looks cool, but not $15K worth of cool, nor $1.5K worth of cool.

Model's face (i.e. seller's girlfriend) is in focus

Then seller should install one of those included campy friction shifters -- otherwise what gear will the igh even be in?

Everything is just slightly out of focus. It makes me want to dump the auto cameras and return to the SLR cameras.

There is some kind of a big klunky black shifter installed on the Downtube, and appear to be cables running to the rear SA hub. But, not the pretty Campy parts in the later photos.

Fixed that for ya (at least as it applies to the photo above). You don't need to "go SLR" to take good photos with proper focus. I went from 35mm SLR to digital point & shoot about 12 years ago, and finally from P&S to DSLR about 3 years ago. But I still use my P&S cameras now and then, and can beat that ^^^^ quality with one hand. Yeah, you can do a LOT more with SLR/DSLR, but most P&S cameras have a pre-focus feature. Point the focus sensor at what you want in focus, half-press the shutter release, hold, re-compose and shoot. Usu. takes 1-2 seconds, and should be second nature to any P&S user. But alas, the myth of smart phones having a real camera persists; too many people think, "oh my phone camera is so high-res", so it can't take a bad photo.

Actually, pixel-peeping the photo, it looks like camera motion blur, not the lens out of focus. Probably low-light, so a long exposure, phone "camera" doesn't have stabilization, and the shooter was too excited thinking about his GF to hold still. In any event, a sub-$100 camera, with a marginally sapient biped behind it, could take a sharp shot in that situation.

I'll be praying for you. I'm telling you, it got to the point that it took me and my buddy with several tire levers and flat head screwdrivers just to get the bead to seat. Frustrating doesn't even begin to describe it.

This, granted it doesn't help at the side of the road.

Exactly. I'd never ride any wheels that require that tool.

I'm a bit of a wuss about changing tires in general, so my seatbag is always large enough to have one of those in it.

Hmmm... The first photo appears to be stolen from the web, scattered all over the web as a stock "wine cellar" photo.

The second photo was stolen from Bern's Steakhouse in Florida.

Not sure how they're planning on getting the Bern's Steakhouse wine collection to San Francisco.

It's not just the weirdness of finding that in the bike section. Craigslist has a no-alcohol-ads policy. I didn't flag it, but one could.
