That's the basic weightlifter template. You can also sub out actual lifting for either "active recovery day" or some other half-assed lifting if so desired. If that case please go directly to step number 4.

Anyway, core/strength stuff today including half a gsteinb unit of single leg box jumps. I was thinking I wasn't going to ride today but the bros called for a night MTB ride so now I'm charging the lights and steeling my liver.

See you in RI.

Upon further review I don't think I can make this. My wife is heading out of town for work, and I was going to use the opportunity to head to the Adirondacks with the dogs for a few days to check on the house and get the heat on for winter. Can't swing all day in the gunks, then back to NJ, then back past the gunks.

The dreaded "VO2sday" - this week I tried something different with 3x (4 min, 3 min rec, 2 min) w/ 4 min rec between sets. The 4 min was on a really steep hill and the 2 min on a relatively flat hill. I was anticipating they would take around 3 min each but guessed wrong. Wanted to do 4 to get ~25 minutes work but there was no chance that was happening. 40 min w/u and c/d meant I ended up with 2hrs and 140 TSS. An interesting change from the typical 5x5'.

doing VO2s in October! You racing cross or something???

I did 2x30' this morning at ~95%, also good for 2hrs w w/u and c/d. My head wasn't in the game and my body felt weird - although my legs felt great and I was able to complete the workout without much difficulty.

Hmm.

I spent August in France doing pretty much SST pretty much everyday so I'm using VO2 to hopefully 'pull' up the FTP to maximize gains. I'm doing a 10-week hill climbing series which lasts until Thanksgiving, so its not completed wasted effort .

Commuted, got sideswipped by a car. Going into an intersection a car passed me and did a quick right, cutting me off. It was either go with it or go down. Hit a quick turn and got knicked in the leg coming out of the turn, no worse than jostling in a crit. Unfortunately there were no rocks nearby.

V02 Intervals tonight!

Shoulda told them to hold their line before the turn ... if I've learned anything from crits, it's that yelling 'hold your line' is key.

That does nothing, you have to throw in an f bomb for it to be effective!
