Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Sat: 8-9mi of mtn biking with my GF.. most of it on fire roads and some pavement around the park. trails were a mix of melting snow and mud that made things pretty slick. We don't mtn bike much but our CX riding this fall definitely helped out today.

Sun: did 33mi with a friend. 40F and not too bad when we left but the clouds rolled in and it got colder by the middle and end. Luckily we had a few good hills thrown in to keep the blood moving

Good job on the 99mi Steve

Saturday I rode out to Upper Tampa Bay trail for a total of 40 miles. *Mini rant - there are a couple of cyclist that get on my nerves on this trail. Often they ride at too high a speed with unnecessary risky maneuvers around others using the trail. They also like to whistle very loudly for you to get out of their way. If they are going slower they go totally nuts if you pass them. This happened again on Saturday. The guy felt it necessary to catch up and then slowed down after passing. He just ended up getting in the way of my nice steady pace. Why? I know the answer is to stay off the trails, but I do like the change from the road every now and then. Sunday was a rain out.

Sunday -- 60 km ride up and down hills in our local neighbourhood ... 793 metres (2600 ft) of climbing.

♫ 'I've got hills ... they're multiplying ...' ♪

Monday -- 10.8 km ride doing little laps of a flat down up the road with Rowan. Windy and cold. Typical summer weather.
