Dawes Ranger, bids starting at £120.00 @ Sheffield (England/UK), eBay. Auction ends Feb. 21.
Might be a decent deal for someone in the UK or Europe. (Auction/ad indicates "may not post to United States.")

Dawes Ranger ATB one of the first British made mountain bikes, handbuilt in reynolds 531 all terrain tubing and 531 forks.Very original even down to the tyres, with very desirable components including,SR mts stem, suntour cyclone gear system,SR MTS pedals and handlebars.I would prefer the buyer collects, but they can arrange a courier themselves.

That's only the second one of these I've seen. The other one is in my `stand at the moment, undergoing resto-mod. I haven't ridden it yet, and I'm trying to resist the temptation to take it out on our salty roads.

"Beater" Bridgestone RB-1 in Portland but that note about the original drivetrain (full Suntour GPX, I think) intrigues me.
This is a beater version of a great old road bike. The brakeset, crankset, derailleurs and seatpost are original. The rear wheel is an Ultegra hub with a pretty worn out Mavic CPX-33 rim. The front wheel is a one year old surly hub with a Mavic CPX-33 rim. Tires are Schwalbe Luganos. The frameset it rough. There is a shallow 1 inch long dent in the top tube and the decals were painted over at some point. It's a functional, fun to ride bike that looks pretty bad.

Have also seen a couple recently over on GumTree.com.
Of course, it's likely to be the same essential issue: possible refusal to "post to United States."

If interested in another, check out this website. So far as I can tell, in the past 3mos there have been four examples of the early Dawes Ranger put up for sale there. Site: FindThatBike.co.uk.
Have also seen a couple recently over on GumTree.com.

I'm going to have to make a new bracket for the front fender, and lots of adjustment to get them just right. Sometimes that's the toughest part of a build.

Nah, that's OK, I only need one. Here's a shot of it in-process; a rideable mockup just waiting for Spring, when I can do the shakedown rides and finishing touches.

Expert enough, in this case, But a terrific find, given the asking price. Too far away for me, even on my wacko days.
Seems like mid Winter garage/basement clean-outs are in full swing
"Steel is real(ly) cheap. More purchasing power, on the bright side.
