Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

The rating they post is 135psi...should be half that.

Who would want to use 130psi on a gravel tire? I’m using 60/55psi with 30mm Schwalbe G-One Speed tires. If I was using 35-40mm gravel tires, the pressure would probably be a little lower.

They also recommend as small as a 25mm tire. Again, they're saying what the rim can withstand, not recommending a tire pressure. What's the confusion?

Just wanted to say that I took a good whack to the wheels yesterday via large pothole that ordinarily would have probably caused both a flat and potentially damage. Stupid me... Got off the bike to take a look, tubeless still intact and wheels still completely in true! Mine were built via the NA distributors but still I'm relatively sure that with the pressure I run that the side of the pothole could have compressed the rim carbon itself.

Almost a couple thousand miles now and going strong

+1, I've nailed several large potholes that have launched water bottles and rattled my fillings, still perfectly true and no issues at all, they're def solid. One was at about 30mph and I'm 84kg, so I hit that thing hard! Also did my toughest climbing/descending this past weekend, over 8k ft of climbing and coming down a really fast, tight section with s-curves where you have no choice but to ride the brakes hard or you go off the road into the woods, brakes were fine and not even hot to the touch at the bottom.

Was your freehub body a little dragy at first?

Yup, still is a little bit, but it's getting better. I've noticed when I backpedal to clean/lube the chain, it'll slowly start spinning the wheel. But they roll great, and I like the 36t upgrade.

After about 1200 miles my freehub still drags a tiny bit, but nowhere near as much as when new.

Still clearing customs and USPS from SF to Colorado? Nah, I'll expect Weds/Thurs at the earliest. That way I'm not hitting "refresh" every 15 minutes. Not that I've been doing that. No way. Not me.

Just do the text update option from USPS - they'll let you know whenever it leaves or enters a facility. It's about the only good thing that I've got to say about USPS shipping.

You guys need to be exposed to the Indian postal service. Then you'll have a new respect for USPS.

Hmmm. I ordered my wheels 9 days ago and they said that shipping would occur in 12 days, but according to their tracking information, the rims are still in the "material prepare" and "molding" steps. Delivery might take longer than expected, it seems.

I ordered April 16. Each step seemed to take a day or two. They went to shipping on Monday Apr 29....

Oh and they arrived TODAY.

45mm depth (25mm wide) U-shape rim brake, with Sapim CX-Rays and Novatecs (because Campy).

The good? They're beautiful. The "stealth" logos look really nice.

The meh? No qr skewers.

The "bad?" No extra spokes --I'll email LB and I'm sure they'll send a few out.

They're going onto a Fairdale Goodship I've been waiting to build up since oh, Christmas. Pics of the completed bike forthcoming, but here are some super big, it's good to be a red-star member pics:

If you turn the logo to the side, you'll see how it's zoomed and cropped

Was the grooved brake track unavailable for this rim? Or did you just not feel like it? Also, any particular reason you chose the older 25mm instead of the falcon 28mm?

Well, I thought I ordered the graphene brake track. It's not grooved, so I guess not. I'm still happy with them. It is available, you have to email them when you put in the order. And I run 25mm tires....

I haven't verified, but others have indicated to just ask them to quote alternative hubs. FWIW, your wheelset in the configurator (global site only) now only makes the BITEX hubs available with Campy (not Novatecs).. no idea why. US site seems to make more available configs for Campy freehubs, but none of the 25mm width wheelsets are available in the US

I told you to expect them today.

Sucks that you didn't get the brake track you asked for, but from what I've read about them it doesn't make a huge difference in the wet(and is actually a tiny bit worse when dry)
