Things Found on the Side of the Road
While riding today, I found a case full of CDs in the weeds along the side of the road. The case contained 57 CDs! Not only that, they are almost all original disks.
The only problem is that they appear to be almost all hip hop, which is not my kind of music. I'm hoping I can sell them at a used book or music store. If I can get a couple bucks apiece for them, it might pay for some bike stuff.
Anyone else find anything valuable along the side of the road while riding?

Tools. That' the most valuable things I come across. Usually ratchet drives. What I find the most of is:
CD's
disposable lighters
casette tapes (most always unwound and strung out for dozens of feet.)
Porno mags

You look hard enough you will see every thing imaginable. My group most often stops to pick up avocodos that have freshly fallen off the trees. Now, I would stop for the Pomollo(sp?) Grapefruit.
Now to report on the somewhat bizarre stuff , that surprises me. Often I see adjacent to the curbs on busy highways, what looks like to be spent condoms. Not unusual, I'm sure... What is more of a surprise- I have noticed on isolated bike trails, no automobiles allowed- what appeared to be unused, unwrapped condoms, all rolled up.Can't miss the highly colored ones! . Can't figure that one out. Wish they would stop doing that, they might causes crashes. So many people are such pigs.
I have unusual ways of keeping myself on track, like when climbing a really steep hill. Schearer's Grade. 2 miles long. Somewhat difficult climb. The last 1 mile is the steepest part. To keep my mind off of the refrain- (how much longer do I have to go, bit!); I usually count litter. During that last one mile, I count soft drink cans. Whatever, keeps you from quitting.
Gosh, I will keep this clean and not report what my dive group has found on underwater clean ups. It is the worst under expensive docks with lots of expensive yachts. One person, got an unexpected $100 gift certificate for the most obscene item of litter.

I would like to think that if someone stole my CD's and then dumped them that someone might hand them in.
I don't know what the case is for you but down here if you hand in something of value to the cops you can get it back in a couple of months if no one claims it.

I've been starting to notice a bunch of these little silver CO2 cartridges and a lot of dead birds.

About every 3rd or 4th trip out riding by a golf course near my house I'll see a golf ball on the side of the road.

My wife and I were riding fast, clipped into our tandem when I saw a quarter... then another...then another... It killed me to let that 75 cents go.

Once, when I was stopped for a stoplight, I looked down and found a driver's license and credit card. I couldn't find the guy in the phone book but, fortunately, I found his name mentioned in the archives of our bike club's mailing list and was able to track him down through his wife (who had once been a member of the club).
