Today I hid from my work long enough to whip out this fun little doodle in Illustrator. Who remembers these awesome blenders?

Today I have a new PR for the Central Park Loop.
Not bad for after a 12 hour shift.

45 second off my previous time.

I honestly don't know what it supposed to be. Maybe my HR monitor isn't hooked up right. My blood pressure is usually low, 110/65 around that range [not sure if HR & BP have any correlation].
I definitely pushed myself this ride, but I didn't really feel gassed.

this is usually what I average (again, if its abnormal, maybe my HR monitor isn't lined up right)

Today I had a ****wad keep honking his horn at me, despite me being allllll the way over. So I took the lane and made him stay behind me. This is my new favorite game.
@AristoNYC I think you and I just have high HRs and I really don't think it's cause for any concern, everyones going to have different HRs
I even clip the 200 mark on some hard efforts.

I only said that cause it appears you're in shape and ride/stay active quite a bit. Some people just have higher heart rates than others. Not tryin to hate!

My max heart rate is 215. I can go extended periods of time at 180+. Also from what I understand there is little correlation between fitness level and max heart rate for a normal athlete. Resting heart rate will go down with increased fitness.

Gah, that sounds horrible. When I stay around 180+ for any extended period of time I feel like I'm going to toss cookies.

Note: I'm also old.

I wish there werent sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo many people there when I rode it a few times. I was going fast but I was all over the place dodging people. It felt more dangerous than riding through Time Square.

I still had to move around people and the horse carts. Ideally you want to ride first thing in the morning or late at night when there is no one where but a few other cyclists and runners.
The tourists are the worst part, especially the Europeans since they apparently have no idea on which side of the road you're supposed to be walking on.

this morning after a long night of drinking i went to mcdonalds on the way home and got a steak egg and cheese bagel and a coffee. when i was walking out to my bike this old black guy with a bucket hat and some kind of rods in his hand and maybe a backpack, probably a transient dude was like "that chyo cadillac over there?" "somebody's got a beautiful bicycle!" it made me laugh and smile and say thank you and then he just disappeared. it mightve been morgan freeman/god... not sure. but my bike is kind of a turd so i was like whaat

Spent all day trying to eliminate a clicking noise from my drivetrain. I was sure it was my chainring/bolts/crankarm. Next I was sure it was my bottom bracket. It can't be my pedal, no way. Swapped my left pedal with my wife's left pedal. Noise was gone. Examined my pedal, all is well. It turns out my left pedal wasn't *quite* tight enough in crankarm. Argh.

At least I can sleep now.

That's good that you got to the bottom of it; that's how pedal threads are stripped.
