Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Just got a box full of Ultegra R8050 Di2 goodies and a BBinfinite bottom bracket in the mail. Just waiting for a rear derailleur hanger, then I'll be in business.

A classy looking Kapelmuur jersey in black. I also picked up a pair of Sportful Giro behind that were half price.

I had the original Giant TCX2 saddle

Went for 1h15m ride yesterday. Last ride before that was last December so my bums weren't accustomed to riding yet this year. Beside my saddle tilted a bit backward (I kept sliding back on the saddle), it was confortable and I felt no pain while and after riding. I did feel my sit bones more for the first few minutes of my ride but that feeling disappeared after that. I'm liking it so far. I'll ask my doctor for a PSA test in early Summer which will tell me if it's as gentle on the prostate as they say it is...

It's here, I've taken a couple quick rides. I really, really like it. Saddle did not agree with me so I have a new one coming. The only thing I do NOT like about it are the bars. They are really narrow gage. I will be replacing them with a wider gage carbon set. The frame is super shiny, I love the finish, and the seat stays up close are gorgeously swoopy. It's not nearly as harsh a ride as you would expect from a full on race rig either, and I'm not in as aggressive position as I am on my classic steel race frame. I'm low, but not super low. Which is good, because I intended this one to be my daily driver.

You cannot beat the price. My wife's company had a discount code, so I got it all in for $3082. Full Dura Ace, HED wheels and cockpit, 16.5 lbs which is pretty good for an aero frame.

Aprils is pretty sweet as well. Will probably pick that one up too!

Not including the new Giant Defy that I picked up yesterday, last weekend I bought a pair of Shimano RP-9 Carbon cycling shoes, weekend before that I picked up a Poc Octal X Spin helmet.

The Rapha Classic II has become one of my favorite jerseys, although I prefer the all black because I am not a fan of the arm band. As a 190ish rider I often have issues finding a jersey that fits in the chest while not being so long I have to tuck it under. This one fits me just right and I usually take the opportunity to buy them when on sale.

Deda Zero100 stem, 80mm 82 degrees. My previous stem was 90mm, -6 degrees but my bike fitter recommended a shorter one (up to 70mm even) for riding audax distances. I visited my FLBS, found only 60mm and 80mm stems, decided to go with 80mm instead.
