There's a new software update out 10.3.3 you might see if that will help.

My samsung-android phone and windows 7 and 8 PC's work fine, my ipad is an air 2 from 2012 and apple doesn't support system upgrades. that is one reason why I hate apple. Windows 7 is still getting updates and it has been around forever. Can't buy Any apps from the app store (I tried) to block ads either for the 2012 iPad.
Rant over.

OK. It was bought in 2012 for my wife's birthday so whatever they were selling back then. I inherited it this year when she upgraded to the latest iPad. It is 5 years old and orphaned by Apple. Nice.

1. Sell old unit on eBay. Apple products have excellent resale value.
2. Go to apple.com and buy a refurbed unit.
When you buy a refurbed iPad/iPhone from Apple, it comes with:
- New case.
- New glass.
- New battery.
It is indistinguishable from a new one.
When iOS 11 comes out this fall I will be doing this again with my iPhone 5.

I was out on a ride today, and made the mistake of trying to access BF at a rest stop.
Different domain name with the &*)_$%_@!!! popup this time.

To be fair I have friends with newer android phones that have been orphaned, while not perfect Apple actually tends to be better than most in this regard.

Anyone else getting redirected to spam sites from Bikefourms?
This is nothing to do with bikes or cycling, but relevant to forum users!
In the last month or so, when browsing Bikeforums on an iOS device (iPhone, iPad) I get frequent "page redirects" where a dialog box appears with some fake prize announcent, and on closing this I am redirected away from bikeforums.net to an advertising site. It happens on cell or wi-fi network.
My basic IT knowledge suggests that this probably isn't an kind of virus on my device, but more likely a problem with the bikeforum server for mobile devices.
Is anyone else having this problem. It's starting to make bikeforums.net unusable for me.
Thanks.

This problem has become more frequent on my iOS devices in the last week. Makes BF almost unusable on mobile devices.
The ads seem to recognise my ISP (mobile of wi-fi), so maybe it's using the DNS servers on the device to determine this. Perhaps using an external DNS server would help?
Glad it's unlikely to be some iOS virus, but it's very irritating nonetheless.
Any solutions that work? Are there any free ad-blockers?

I get it too on my iPhone. Only while on Bike Forums. It makes the site unusable. The various fixes suggested in the google search results for ingmatic don't stop it. The latest version of iOS doesn't stop it, either. It stops if I clear all cookies then set Safari to "always block cookies", but then nothing else works correctly either. I'm thinking about staying away from BF altogether to avoid spreading this plague to my other platforms.

I installed a simple free Ad Blocker from the App Store on my iPhone ("Ad Blocker" - original name, huh!), and so far I haven't seen the pop-up or page redirection...fingers crossed!
