I kinda like slack chains but that's the second one I've seen today that's too slack for me.
A bit of a bummer that you probably can't run front brake without buying some really expensive booteek V-brakes or getting another fork.
Could probably find a nutted caliper that'll work on the back.

At the risk of providing some useful information in an otherwise waste of bandwidth.
Top level paint will most likely be automotive two part. It can cost you as much for the paint as the original bike price. Been a while but you would be lucky to get away with spending $100 for raw materials alone assuming you have the equipment. One of my high school friends, Dale Sasso, is a somewhat well known builder and that is weapon of choice.
About 1/2 that price will be single stage paints. They are relatively simple to use and great shelf life. Not as durable and often not as pretty as a two part. You should get them in either automotive or marine grades. Prices are reasonable in that you can get a quart for less then $50.
Below what I would personally use.
Near bottom would be rattle can or Rustoleum. Rustoleum does make a marine grade, I have a quart of it but haven't had the time or weather to spray it yet so I can't recommend it.<yet> Advantage is you can get all of them including the marine grade Rustoleum at your local hardware store. Problems with rattle can are thin coats and bad UV protection<they fade>. The typical OTC Rustoleum is painfully slow drying, 24 hours between coats, and stays soft.
FWIW: I've seen examples of people that have painted cars using house paints and a brush! Completely silly stupid amount of work they do wet sanding and clear coating. Just mentioning it to let you know I am aware of profoundly silly stuff out there as opposed to a question like what paint to use on a fixie conversion.

Good read, would read again. I especially enjoyed the part about over complicating the procedure to find out what the frame was made of. However your sentences are strung out and over complicated, also your plot has some flaws that need reworking.

On a serious note - the shape of the tubes on that frame, doesn't that pretty much equal aluminum? I do not know that I have ever seen steel

Just in case he is a glutton for punishment and still reading this thread, I personally like DuPont. My advice 'google 2 part automotive paint' does lead to the answer and gets he away from this circle jerk.

this thread is killing me. It reminds me when I was younger and painting houses. I went the guys house with paint gallons and my stuff. he asks me if I mind opening up the paint can so he can sample it. At first i was like wtf? this guy going to sniff my paint?
Nope, took a small sample, disappeared and came back 15 minutes later to tell me he cannot pay me if I use Benjamin Moore. He asked if I'll come back tomorrow and he'll provide me with paint plus still pay me my full quote.
I came back the next day and he had Dutch Boy (good Lord!) sitting there for me use. I told him it'll require 2 if not 3 coats of paint and may cost more since it'll take longer. He said no matter, the chemical composition of the paint exceeds that of Benjamin Moore once its cured and will last longer while being more durable.
I asked him how he knew this....his response was showing me his drawings of the Apollo space craft along with his NASA badge....I was clearly out-brained that day. engineers.......
