Bummer. I can't find the other white one I was watching, but this is one I was thinking of that Goodwill in Denver just sold for $50 (local pickup): 5187 N FENCE5 Vintage Peugeot Record Du Mond Road Bicycle | eBay

Nothing earthshaking here except from the paint style, the black bands, it looks like a largely Raleigh Grand Prix knockoff in pastel blue. A Pegasus. I found one thread talking about Pegasus but it could be another company they spoke of. Who knows where this bike came from. No chrome tipped fork. Just sort of an anomaly. The gold painted font on the black is reminiscent of how the Grand Prixs are styled as well. How does that go, "imitation is the best form of flattery".

A Raleigh Grand Prix with the 3 black bands, seat post is a longer ban.

Came in here to post that, saw you beat me to it

That's a steal if it's legit, even though the rear wheel looks kinda crappy (a pie plate is usually not a good sign).

This is from a fellow BF member. I reluctantly -VERY reluctantly- had to pass. It is almost exactly what I've been looking for, but timing is off....

81 Peter Mooney
[h=2]81 Peter Mooney - $1600 [/h]

I took it to Wheelworks where the original builder assessed it, found some tubed tires and had them glued to the original nisi rims. They also cleaned it a bit, re packed the pedals & hubs then wrapped some new black tape to the 62/42 bars. The order slip in Peter's handwriting can be yours, too. It still needs brake lever hoods but that's about it. Everything is original, otherwise, with a full campy compliment. The paint cycles between deep blue and metallic green depending on the light and chrome forks set it off.

Peter remembered building this for the previous owner. It's straight and true. The Columbus tube sticker is a bit funky but the bike seems to be in very good condition, overall.

For $475, there is a 54cm Reynolds steel GT triple triangle road frame that I think would be the more desirable frame, no?

I humbly agree with this assessment. And while cool indeed, it isn't especially clean or immaculate...

Vintage Colnago Fixed Gear

[h=2]Vintage Colnago Fixed Gear - $250 (Bedford, NH) [/h]

safety tips

Old Colnago fixie, about 58cm frame. Frame has been painted at some point. No decals, which allows you to bomb around in Italian bike stealth mode. Plenty of scratches and patina. Small dent in top tube (in photo). 27 inch rims (not 700c) laced to a Surly rear hub and Campy front hub. Crazy low 42/18 gearing. Has drop bars with brake levers on them but no brakes. I can throw in a front brake, a cable, and some bar tape if desired to get that tidy.

"Is this a good Peugeot?"
For starters, that's a Stronglight Crank, that's very, very good.

Chrome back and front, that's real good too. Undoubtedly, assuming it is in rideable shape.

Shifters on the downtube and not the stem.

So, yes.

I'm nowhere near there, so I won't get it, I bet that Peugeot has some nice frame tubing material as well, it's probably light. Excellent.

Other people know more than me on this, but someone was just talking about purple colored Peugeots in this forum the other day.

And it looks like it is in good shape cosmetically.

The Schwinn looks good too, the JC Penny for all we know, might appeal to antique buffs, disk brakes.

Given the half-chromed stays and fork, as well as the Stronglight stuff, I am going to venture to guess PX10. In purple! Don't recall ever seeing one of those before.

Yea, I'm trying to contact the seller. Hopefully he doesn't know what he has there. Going to really low-ball it.

It looks like a great bike,

The Schwinn is also nice, maybe not as a collectible but for getting around.
