Today I finally feel confident chasing this pipe welding schtick. Been going to the training center every day for the last few weeks for 6-8 hours and going through all the strain and frustration of, basically, re learning how to weld. I'm exhausted and it feels awesome. I want to ride my old Schwinn and get a beer.

Today I swung by RG and purchased a new (51 t) chainring, chain, stem and handlebar tape for my track bike. Also swapping out the tore up old saddle on there with a new and unused Specialized Power that I took off my venge. I'm excited to get it all nice and spiffy tonight!

You guys have me beaten by quite a bit. Today I rode for about 50 minutes, 30:31 of them were during a rolling TT, during which I managed to cover 20km on a road bike. 30s off my target time, damn!

For reference, a strong, tough cat 2 teammate on a TT bike managed to complete the course in about 25 minutes :gasp:

You got me by about 1000 feet. It is really flat here, so getting any type of elevation on a ride is pretty tough unless you travel north or west in the state.

OOPS - my math is terrible. Metric century is 62 miles right? I did 25 more. Was pretty beat last night when I posted that.

Today I put in 37.6 miles on some dark back country roads. Get yourself some good gear if you plan on doing this late at night. Nothing like heading out for a ride at 12:45 AM.

NiteRider Lumina 700 on the bars
NiteRider Lumina 350 on the helmet
Cygolite HotShot Pro 150 on the rear

Have a look at Exposure products. Chain Reaction has them for about 40% off list.

The Strada 1200 has 3 hour burn time at 1200 lumens, 10 hours at 500 lumens. Definitely an investment but worth it for the amount of night riding I'm doing nowadays.

Raced 71 miles of gravel Saturday morning. Finished 7th/13, with the bottom five having dropped out. 'Twas hot and humid but managed to keep from blowing up until about the last four miles.

Today I am taking a break from riding. Did 31 miles early this am, like shortly after midnight. My body is starting to protest, more like my knee. Time to back it off a bit. Normally I don't ride that many miles back to back to back but it was a hot streak. 155 miles in 3 days is more than I have ever done like that.

You rode every single day? Impressive man. That is not easy to do physically, but the mental part as well. You start to dread getting on that saddle.

I've been fairly lazy the last few weeks so I unleashed the hounds for a few hours before work this morning.

61 mi. w 2.3k elevation in 3:08, 210 w AP.

Up tomorrow: MTB commute.

@johnnytheboy did you ride during the thunderstorms last week? When you mentioned it was your birthday recently I checked the whether and it had T-storms on the forecast.

As it approaches, I'm kind of butthurt that I decided against going with some buddies to this year's RAGBRAI.

yessir. so far this year i've ridden in snow, pouring rain, 100+ degree heat (a lot of those particular days it was 90%+ humidity), 45mph headwinds, through cities, through the desert and even rode on the day that i had my oral surgery (4 wisdom tooth extraction). ive been sick, healthy, motivated to ride and times when i didn't even wanna look at a bike. but, i've done it every single day and still have over 160 more days left this year.
i'm not competitive at all, but i'm pretty motivated and when i set my sights on something, i usually get it.
