Second morning in a row with drip coffee.. Yeah, I know. It can be habit forming. I'm telling myself I can find a dose that I can live with, or without. Thing is, I am SO much more productive, even with just a little bit of weak, filtered coffee. Filtered coffee is flavorless, so I've got that going for me. But with just the right dose, with just the right strength, there is that clear, sparkly zone, which only comes after a period away from it, altogether. The key is to find exactly what that period is. I didn't get it yesterday, after a week away, but I had it in spades, last week, after three months away. Was it an issue of dosage(I intentionally made it weaker yesterday), or time away? Thus the stronger brew this morning.
It's a new frontier. Am I up to the challenge? It would be so easy to slide back into addiction. And such a grand failure to persevere in the interest of the science of human potential.

It didn't.
Briefly met up with a few guys from the club and escorted them a short way on their ride. I had bowed out of the full ride because a) time commitment and b) I figured I'd still be hurting from yesterday. Legs felt surprisingly good, though. Like, lower-bounds-of-normal good.

Also, as of yesterday, I was figuring that I'd only get in an 18-mile recovery ride today, but with the 34 miles this morning, I'm tempted to go out for another 6 to hit 200 for the week.

The weather was teetering on the edge of looking dangerous, but the sun won out.

I'm coming to the hive mind for a solution to my problem.
New wheels are tubless compatible. This morning I punctured 6 tubes trying to mount new conti 40000's on them. I also noticed the rim strip is not helping things, it slides over and reveals spoke holes,, then pop. Another flat.
Am I loosing my mind? I've never had problems like this mounting tires before.

I remember when I used to ride bmx, I had a wheel set built with Araya Himiko rims and Primo hubs. Christmas Morning I rushed to get them mounted went through about 6 tubes. I would get them on ride 10 feet and spoooooooooosh. I was at my wits in. Ended up being the rim tape wasn’t wide enough to cover the spoke holes.
Point is I feel your pain.

But, ls01, just use the adhesive tape like Stan's, and as wide as the whole rim bed. It doesn't matter if tubeless-compatible or not; that's the best way to avoid the strip moving over.
