There's perfectly good reason to prohibit wheeled vehicles of any kind to take the trails into the canyon. Thank goodness! There's plenty of cycling territory available and permissible in the nearby deserts, why allow one of the natural wonders of the world to be defaced. One of the few things in this world that are truly breathtaking.

HR back down in the 40s today, with HRV up to 8.3. Haven't tested for COVID today but yesterday's was so strongly positive that it seems like a waste of a test to even try. That, and I don't need to go anywhere. I'll probably do half a day of WFH, then test tomorrow and see if I can go in in person.

back on site for work today. man what a whirlwind.... so much less focused than at home, scattered all over the place. but that's a lot of my job: feeding baby birds with approval and support questions. those birds need to go to my boss when I'm out, so I get it. I gotta be on site when I can

my wife says she's tired of hearing the Dead at home. But the beat goes on over here, through my headphones at work at least

Mexico has a system in place where you can check to see if a vehicle is stolen, before you buy it. But there are tales of the ‘owner’ and the ‘theif’ being in cahoots, and not reporting the vehicle as stolen until after the sale.
My case was simple. I took it in to transfer the title and it went away on a wrecker. Before it got that far I was being followed by the state policeman on site. He insisted on following me to the bathroom, at which point I asked if I was suspected of something. He had no answer. My lawyer was recommended by a friend. I was being charged with being the thief, and he had to extricate me from that, first, and then clear my record. We got to be friends during that time. When I applied for citizenship my record was clean.

My dad had this on heavily when I was growing up, and is still a regular listen for me. so many good tracks. Been into "Black Peter" a lot lately, a nice ballad. And "Dire Wolf" might be my all time favorite, I love anything with steel guitar.
My parents played Workingman's Dead and American Beauty growing up, the endless jam-band type stuff that comes through my feed now is my current guitar player's influence. Good background music you can tune into and out of.

Viscous headwind causing me to come up short on my quest to catch the train in Atlantic City. 7.9 mph average over 31 miles. 6 miles to go before I sleep that include a path along a bridge over a harbor that should be brutally windy. Motel 6 is leaving the light on for me.

More fox content: apparently, according to mrs datlas, Jackie got into a fight/altercation with a fox....and came running away from it and into the house. Apparently no damage done to her, so I suppose this "fight" was more likely a "chase."
Interestingly, the internet says in cat vs fox the cat might win.

Having some back and forth with HR regarding two of my reports that are applying internally for a new (higher) position in my department, that will also report to me.
Man IDK if its like a corporate HR thing or just a thing w this lady, but she is talking to me like I'm an idiot or a child and being real explicit about things, some of which I literally just stated in my previous email. It kind of feels like a risk mitigation thing - like they NEED to make sure managers and interviewers dont screw things up. Either that or they have poor reading comprehension or are too busy to read my emails. I'm trying to be concise.
Since our acquisition in 2021, HR and everything above that has been in a constant whirlwind. This particular interaction feels a bit robotic TBH
