1997 Lemond Reno worth?
Hey folks, I found a 1997 Lemond Reno with an asking price of $160. It's burgundy-ish with yellow lettering and looks to be in good condition with no noticeable rust, however it is missing the rear derailleur. Any thoughts on this?

I would say that the price is too high considering that you would have to install and adjust a rear derailleur. Who knows what else needs attention? You won't be able to tell if the shifters work. This is an entry level spec bike. There is no way to test ride it to find out if things work the way they are supposed to

Thanks for passing on this bike, because I bought it yesterday here in Atlanta! It does need some love, but the old steel LeMonds are great riding frames! This is my 2nd mid 90s LeMond (also have an orange 1997 Alpe d'Huez) and I plan on giving it a mild restoration. If you see that beautiful dark plum ride out and about feel free to say hi!

I have owned my 2002 Alp d'Huez for over 17 years and I love it. The bike rides beautifully, and perhaps I'm being corny and overly sentimental here, but I feel as though I'm honoring Greg in some way. He's always been a hero of mine. Can't wait to see the film!

I am interested in buying a 1997 61cm Lemond Reno frameset. Do you know if 700 x 32 tires will fit?

Out of curiosity why would you want to put 32 tires on it?
