It looks to be a track bike which has a road bike rear wheel and cassette jammed into the track-specific dropouts (obviously without any thought as to how that's going to mess up the spacing). No shifters, so I guess the rider was using it as a hackneyed singlespeed frankenbike?

But don't worry, all will be well - it has a rear brake for that massive "stops inside a city block" power.

I sold a Romic 531 frame for $250, yeah...but.. Does that make one with the exact same level components that mine came with, worth $800?? I think most definitely not!

This bike must be from from Raleigh's experimental 'bendy' period of design. Seller wants 235 bucks, with no mention of damage, mind you.

A local-to-me flipper listed a Raleigh with bent seat stays like that on CL a couple of months ago. The concensus was that they got bent when the bike had a child seat mounted or when the bike was pulling a trailer. When it was pointed out to the seller, he pulled the ad.

70's Vintage Sekine Road Bike Frame & Wheels - $75 (Victory Neighborhood,N.Mpls.)

Date: 2010-06-04, 10:05AM CDT
Reply to: sale-axpcx-1774807461@craigslist.org [Errors when replying to ads?]

Vintage Canadian made Sekine 5 speed road bike frame & wheels for sale. The bike is basically complete but I removed the SR bars & stem and brake levers for another project. The lugged frame measures 21 inches along the seat tube and has a 31 inch stand over height. The rims are chrome Araya and the alloy high flange hubs are Star something or other. Brakes are Shimano Tourney center pull and the derailleur is old Shimano. The frame is dirty but the pearl white paint looks like it could be cleaned and polished to look pretty nice. The rear wheel has a very cool spoke protector with the words SEKINE carved out of the disk. The original Sekine seat has some paint splatters but no cuts or holes. The chrome fork stays have some lite rust that should clean up and the rear stays ore horizontal so good candidate for fix/single conversion. The head badge is also very cool detailed metal. There is a bike license from 1977 so it has to be at least that old. Asking $75.

I have a Basso lugged steel fork for a 1 inch threaded headset. The fork is in great condition.

The fork has been stripped of paint, clear-coated and had frame saver applied.

The steerer tube is a touch under 16cm (about 16 1/4 inches). The top 3.5cm (1.5 inches) is threaded.

The crown race is not included. If you would like to buy the fork, when you pick it up, can you bring a hammer and flat screw driver or punch to tap it off.

The fork has three sets of braze-ons for (1) rear of dropout for fenders, (2) front of dropout for front pannier rack and (3) front of fork legs for a mid-fork rack.
You can buy his fork but you have to take the crown race off for him.

Beautifully engineered women's road bike. Incredible ride. As-New condition, only used for less than 300 miles on dedicated cycle track, absolutely no road use. Carefully stored. Admired from afar instead of ridden - hence sale. $600, but open to sensible offers from ethical humans.
Am I the only one who's bugged by people who treat bicycles as only works of art, especially modern TIG welded mass produced bikes? I mean, sure, it's a nice bike and a reasonable price. But "Admired from afar"? Really?
