Overdue update: Masi, Paramount, Jackson. Lots of Pics
Well I think it is about time to show and tell. My super sexy all white Masi is pretty much done. I still need pedals but thats it. I acquired the frame from the Serotta forum. The frame is an Italian 1984 3V. It was repainted pearl white by the previous owner. The paint is gorgeous and I am a huge sucker for white bikes. I pieced the C-record group together over the course of about 2 years. I started snatching parts before I had the frame. I am thrifty (cheap) so I waited until I found deals on the parts and that's why it took so long to get everything. The hardest part to find was a 32hole front hub.
I built the hubs up on Sun rims. I like the look of deeper wheels and these were darn cheap. It was my first wheel build and it went quite smoothly. Im unsure what all the hub-bub it about setting up delta brakes. I had no problem with them and they stop decently, not great but better than I was expecting after reading all the comments. I wont lie the bike was built on one principle, to look good for as cheap as I could afford. I have about 10 miles on it and it will probably continue to stay an objet d'art rather than a rider. Just about everyone who comes into the house comments on it. A good amount of the parts were sourced from this forum so I thank you all for your help!
Second: Yesterday I picked up a 1998-2000 Schwinn Paramount frame. I was looking for a beater to build up for a winter bike, and I ended up with this. But for the price of a case of beer, I couldnt pass. It does not have the fork and it may be a hair small but I've been after a Paramount for so long, I bit. The seller said he took all the parts and put them on an Allez because it was lighter. I offered to pay more because I had a hard time morally grabbing a Paramount for $20, but the seller refused. Its not in perfect shape but again, I couldn't pass on it. I know its not C&V but who doesn't love lugged Paramounts?
Last: The Bob Jackson is almost done. I traded a BF'r for a 3TTT adjustable stem and it looks like it was meant for it. Now just have to pick up and glue some tubies onto the rims.
Cheers,
WjV
And now for the eye candy, enjoy:

So Will, you're the Dirty, Steenkin Rat who beat me to that Paramount frame, eh? Nice score at an unbelievable price. Super nice seller too; I was going to buy that Shimano 600 wheelset from him for $30, but with no skewers and a friend in Greeley who was going to pick them up for me flaking out, I had to defer to a local buyer.
That Masi is absolutely gorgeous, but be careful taking it out this winter as it might be a bit hard to find in all the snow.

Unbelievable deal on that Paramount!
That Masi is drop dead gorgeous! I'd say keep the Deltas on the wall and install a set of Cobalto brakes and RIDE IT!
The Jackson looks pretty, too. I'd love to see it built up!

Richard, Yea I was lucky number 1. Sorry if I took it out from under you. Im shocked I was first as the posting was up for about an hour when I emailed. I'd love to find an original fork but that's not very likely considering there were only about 750 made.
I would like to get the correct pedals for the Masi but I have yet to find a decent deal, so it wears cheapies for now. If I ever ride it, I'll put clip-less on.
Cheers,
WjV

Paramount is too small and certainly not winter beater material....I would happily trade you a winter beater frame in your size!
I didn't think I would like so much white on a bike, but that Masi is gorgeous!

Second generation Paramounts are usually my thing, but I wouldn't say no to a Match frame - with exception to the decals and flat-blade fork, they have more traditional character than the Waterfords.
