The Cult of CAAD...

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

1) White comforter on a purple wall is NOT a white garage door!
2) Valve stems showing
3) Last picture not rotated.

Picture FAIL.

So far....it did NOT happen!

I'd need a garage to make that happen!

And?

If it was, the "Handmade In U.S.A." wouldn't be legible.

Thou assumeth too much!

A) That saddle "is" silver.

B) I have a Black Saddle on it now and Black Bar Tape ready to go on it.

C) AND! I'm already a superhero! Haven't you already heard?

I rode the 2011 Allez Apex at my LBS. Still came home with the CAAD9 5 though.

Can anyone verify the geometry table for the Caad10 on the Cannondale website? It is the same table for the Caad8 and different from the previous table for the Caad9. I'm just wondering what the geometry changes are for the 10 from the 9.

Yes. Thank you. And while looking at the link, I wondered why that's not what I was seeing, I then noticed that my browser was pointed to the European English location. Those geometry specs are completely different for the Caad10.

Does that for me too.
Sometimes, I'm directed to their U.K. site also.

2ndGen, Well, you had to know the C'Dale haters weren't going to let this thread go unmolested!

To tone down any stiff frame you have to look at the tires and tire pressure. A large for it's size 23C at ~100 PSI does the job nicely. I just put 25Cs on my rat bike. How do I know? I bought the 3.0 about 18 years ago and the other two new.

My Cannondales:

'89 CR300 (rat bike)

'94 2.8 R400 bought just because of the black/gold color (distance bike)

'99 CAAD3 (to stay OT)

OK, thought I'd get a few pictures just after giving my baby a bath, so here she is. 2009 CAAD 9-6. Upgraded the stem, bars, seatpost, seatpost clamp, saddle, wheels, skewers, handlebar end caps, brakes, and valve stem caps. The KCNC brakes, skewers, end caps, etc., are from Fairwheel bikes and are crazy light stuff!!! The brakes work better than the Tektro brakes that were OEM. Also got the Fizik saddle bag, but took it off for the bath and the pics.

Thoughts? suggestions?? Let 'em rip!!

rangerdavid, It's a silver frame, anything matches with it so have fun. I do suggest a little cable triming from the integrated shifters. Here's a pic of the front of my CAAD3... the devil is always in the detail.

Brad

PS Don't shorten the RD cable housing from the chainstay to the RD as it seems to stiffen up the 10S.

thanks bradtx. the obvious stuff is the easiest, and you're correct about the small details, but that's what really makes difference.

One of these days I'll get mine more balanced. I forgot the RD trimmer barrel's lever was a bit longer than the FD trimmer barrel without the lever. I promise myself to fix it every time before I service the RD, but always forget!

rangerdavid, well done. it looks great. i like the KCNC stuff and was curious as to how the bar end plugs look. they look good. one question; is that the KCNC SC9 seatclamp? shouldnt the bolt be in the rear and not the front? later.

Hello all, I posted this earlier but I suspect that it won't get answered unless it's in CAAD...I think seeking entrance into your elite club...
if you can answer me this...
how well will these two geometries be compatible...I hope...?
doing a frame-to-frame equipment swap.
