^ That's a damn fine idea!

Love the International - and wish we could see details. It might be higher up the Colnago foodchain than that...

Say loose spoke, where are you located?

We'll have to get together for a ride in the spring.

I'm in St. Paul.
I'm near Grand Rapids. That would be great! I've been wanting to meet you and some of the other MN C&Vrs. I almost made the fall ride you guys did... Next year for sure.

'88- '89 (?) SLX Spiral Conic.
Great Thread.
My latest project: SLX Conic- I'd appreciate any input on the rarity of the tapered downtube not having any Gilco shaping. Anyone else have a Conic with this option? Also, external rear brake cable routing and chrome head lugs.
Mostly period C-Record and Chorus parts, (save for the blasphemous Dura-ace rear derailleur and brifter)... Only temporary till the 11 speed Record shows up. Better pictures posted soon.

Here is my colnago master:

Estimated around 1986-87, probably has a racing history in the superconfex team (Rabobank)
The bike has been repainted (not by me), the frame says master piu, but piu's whitout the internal rear brake cable do not exist as far is i know. (This has been confirmed to me by someone at Colnago)
Needs some new bar tape, rides like a dream.

close-up pics can be found here:

My friend that sold me his Extreme Power ditched it for a white C59 with tri-color bars.

An incredible frameset in my opinion.

My version of what I think they should be selling today:

Wish I could get a photo that really shows the color. It's pearl, and even on a cloudy day reflects too much light for me to figure out how to photograph correctly.

I came across this Thread on a search last nite, trying to differentiate the asst Colnago Models from the 70' & 80's. Near as I can figure, I have an '83 model? Forum member jyl has the exact same frame that's an '83, so I'm guessing mine is of the same era. I bought it new as a 'frame only' in the early 80's from the Bicycle Odyssey in Sausalito, CA. It did have Superissimo Decals on the TT but I removed them, as well the the seat tube decal. It was my 1st real racing bike & I rode it steadily for close to 10 years B4 buying another bike. I had to have a set of Cobalto brakes to go w/ the Azzuro Blue color when they came out...& while on a trip to Italy, a riding friend was kind enough to score me 3 Colnago Master sew-ups to go w/ the bike :>)

Orig set up w/ a mix of SR & NR parts, but w/ the advent of Campy indexing & Ergo, I made the move to redo the drivetrain. However, after seeing DD's stellar restored '1974 Molteni Super', I'm beginning to think of a redo to bring mine back to period correct...? Dunno, all I can say is: it's a great ridin' bike...!

My son's 1978 Colnago Super.

Came to me in a trade with that wheeler dealer Biblibob.

A super fun project for the boys and yours truly.

Definitely had some help from DD as well.

That's exactly the color/model I 1st saw years ago, before I got mine. I knew at that point, Colnago was going to be the bike for me. So, when I saw my blue one, I scooped it up in a heartbeat. Your son's a lucky one...!
