Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Did you try before buying? At that price one doesn't stand to lose much to just take the plunge though.

I ordered these Bontrager Race Lite TLR's and some R2 tires to use for an upcoming Granfondo that I'm worried about using my carbon wheels on. I've never had tubeless so we'll see how they fare!

Can't wait to get your feedback. Every day I put the electronics into a shopping cart and then delete them reminding myself that I have so many other things to get first (plus don't know how much I'll be able to get for my mechanical 9000 equip).

not that I "need" any of it...but, I was just waiting to get some halfway decent prices. Everything...9070 electronic (including internal battery and charger) and 9000 mechanical (except brakes) was $2700; you can do better if you're patient. Am hoping I can sell off the 7970/7950 stuff to recoup a small part of the cost....

hopefully so. Look forward to "seeing" it although you live so close maybe you'll get out here to ride (Shenandoah Cty), where I live has some of the nicest road riding I've ever had. I have routes from 13-75 miles where I can count the numbers of cars passing on two hands. That is a steal of a price for a whole kit, but why not the brakes? They're my favorite part of the 9000

I've got the TRP R979 EQ brakes. and they're not in need of upgrading.

I can try to get out your way this fall, at least see some of those routes, also planning to ride the back roads century out of Sperryville again this September.

You should take another pic on the drive train side then to show off the new clean look

I'm MEDIUM based on Pearl Izumi sizing (+ they have the sizing chart in their website). If the medium does not fit, then I'll just return it. REI is 10 mins away from me.

Usually if you buy 4 from PBK you get a discount for buying multiples, combine that with the new customer discount code and its a really good deal. However, I swear a month or two ago someone posted a link for a small US LBS that was selling them for around $36 shipped. Can't seem to find the thread tho.
