+1 on the tsx wagon power plant
+1 on the tsx wagon needing manual transmission (and a turbo charger)
+1 on the giro stage yesterday and the child who won it
+1 on the ToC stage yesterday and the child who won it
-1 on TV side by side, but
+1 on dvr with x8 fast forward
+1 for BeIN outstanding giro coverage, I am so going to Cinque Terre ITA for a vacation someday soon
-10 for the crappy coverage of the ToC, it's a hockey commercial interrupted by a bike race that looks like the tour of spain circa 2002 on wide open highways with uninspiring scenery and announcers that I grew tired of long ago

Giro is heating up!

ToC seems like an amateur race compared to the Giro. And it's not just the announcers; the level of racing seems somewhat like MLS compared to European teams. Euro teams seem annoyed by this too.

I watch it anyway, if only to see glimpses of guys I've seen locally and/or raced at some point.

I dig watching the local roads and some of the smaller teams, but the excitement of watching Etixx sit on the front and pull the break back day after day is a bit dull. There are other teams in the race, but I guess no other sprinters so the other 20 something teams are just there to sit in.

Seemed like Hincapie was trying to defend their yellow jersey, but it was as if the Euro teams didn't take them seriously.

Also, is Sagan always that weird in post-race interviews?

Dunno, but the guys doing the interviews should have figured out by now that Sagan's English is lacking and they can stop asking questions of any depth.

The dude is a great bike racer, but he is never going to be the poster boy these guys want him to be with that English. He could probably earn himself quite a bit more coin if he worked on that as much as he does wheelies.

Giro vs. ToC is no contest, but trying to compare a one week stage race to maybe the 2nd biggest race in the world is going to be that way. It was great to see the teams unable to reel in the kid on Stage 3, and the best sprinter and one the best all arounders in the world are in the race, so it is still fun even if it is massively lacking the depth of field in the Giro.

They are moving tomorrows TT stage from Big Bear to Santa Clarita due to a storm that's coming through the state today and tomorrow and the expected snow at Big Bear.

They have terrible luck trying to plan these stages in the mountains!

Actually he basically said "those Yanks are really sketchy" and that it's not a chill race like he'd heard.

As a side note, seems weird and unproductive to pre-announce that he's leaving the team. Must not be a secret in the team, obviously, but those team dinners must be more glum than usual.

Well, its not only the Domestic Teams A race but its also their Tour de France. Biggest race of the year for them and an audition for the UCI squads. Those teams are coming in peaked with the intention of winning whereas outside a handful of guys the Euro racers are just there for preparation to other racers and sponsor obligations.

Sky also seems like the most dysfunctional team in the peleton, much else surprises me from them.

Giro has had a few rough moments so far.

Funny watching Hofland smack the conti Euro sprinter (don't know the name or team) in the head after the sprint. I guess the guy had been bobbing and weaving pretty bad and was likely the real culprit behind that crash when he closed off the CCC(C?) sprinter and jammed him into the barriers. Probably would have gone down with or without the camera, the camera was just a little insult to the pending injury.

edit: watched a slow-mo overhead, camera to the head was probably the biggest contributor to the crash....
