I broke 200 this week. Was at 198.2 yesterday. I was quite excited. Goal right now is 185 and the ultimate goal would be 175.

today im getting super amped about building my first set of wheels and 650b-ing the roadie

i realized im not about that goin fast life, and more about the enjoying the **** out of my rides and going wherever i want life. so **** all that superlight aero 700c wheels ****

650 wheels with tires are still gonna weigh less than my current 700c wheelset tho.

Today I rode my geared bike for the first time in months. Rode a pretty hilly route and enjoyed it, but gears allow me to be lazy.

Typical non rest or race Sat routine: Do the chili's group ride (~1.75 hr), then stop at the apt. to use the bathroom, get some food, and check bf before heading back out.

ahorita: Back out on the road for another hour. Will ride steady, 'cept for a couple efforts near the end, when I feel like it.

Later.

another 24 miles today on the mtb. drove out to a park with real mtb specific trails for the first time. pretty cool, lots of sand, but maybe a little too easy. bombed some hills and hit a couple jumps and got ~4ft of air a couple times. on a full rigid mid-fat touring bike with dirt drops and one speed. **** your rules.

super weird to see other people riding on trails, especially on bikes. if i see anyone on the island its someone trail running and thats like 1/5 times im out there. gonna go to another park tomorrow with hopefully a higher dirt:sand ratio

im starting to think most of the trails i ride in my hood all range from blues > black diamonds, who knew.

Did a popular roadie loop this morning. For some reason I thought my 52:17 gearing would be okay for climbing a mountain

Would it be safe to assume that you are reevaluating that?

I'm on the couch drinking now.
43 miles. Nearly 3200 feet in climbing. And I decided on my full route after leaving home. So I was in a tee shirt with a messenger bag.
Not prepared at all

Yesterday morning's race was surprisingly easy, but I still managed to let myself get dropped - just kept taking it easy and didn't put in any real effort at a point about 80% of the way through when everyone else kicked it up. So as punishment for not trying, I took the fixed gear out and rode it up to the GWB and back down. Not that it was exhausting, but FG is new to me, and I wasn't even sure I could do it, so only 700' in about 12 miles, 6-8% in spots (though not for more than a couple hundred yards) was occasionally painful. Actually, it was a test; I'm taking it in to the shop today to tweak the fit, and was wondering if I'd have to put it in the car or if I could actually ride it up the hill. Except for a couple of spots, it was OK, so this morning it looks like I've got about 35 miles and 1500' in store.

edit: turns out the tough spots are more like 10-12% No wonder I had such a hard time.

Hiking the pictured mountain next week. Hope to get to Breakneck Ridge this fall. Tough as some of the trail reports say it is?

Sellers win with sniping too. Nothing beats buyers placing in their highest offers at the last seconds and watching their items price rocket upwards.

There's so many chinarello's out there that even though you forked over good money for yours, everybody just assumes the prior. Better opt for the less copied 'nago or wilier instead.

It was pretty tough. I don't run or workout like I used to, I just bike and I didn't have too much trouble. I'm also stupid and try to go up the hardest ways I see possible. Bring lots of water and some food since it takes a few hours depending on how you go and if there are people ahead of you.
