On a long ride yesterday, I had to sneak into one in the dark at a construction site. Good thing it was there. Bike shorts and tights make it difficult to go behind a tree.

I must confess. I am extremely disappointed that our resident scientist (Mr. repen) did not jump all over the scientific faux pas in post 30 of the Silly Road Cyclist thread.

...there's a lot of faux pas masquerading as science in the road forum, and @rpenmanparker is only just one guy.

Think this tandem has too much flop? That and the small captain's quarters have me concerned but I'm totally digging it otherwise.

I just assumed he meant light years/eon. No sense jumping all over a guy for a typo omission.

More progress:
Since the pic, the through tenons on the bottom have also been cut and trimmed flush to match those on top. The goal for tomorrow is to get the surface prep done so that I can slap a few coats of clear poly on it on Wed. After that, it's a matter of installing the leveling feet and calling it done.

Danke, danke. It's certainly not perfectly executed but it's been a really good learning experience and I'm happy with how it's gone so far. Can't wait to get it set up - it's a sturdy as a brick **** house, so the gear should be happy sitting on it (though the cats will be pissed that they're probably not going to have enough room to sleep on the amp when I listen to the music anymore).
