Cool! There's no whale-tail, H1 lights or 915 gearbox, but the engine is still air-cooled.

The Porsche website quotes $3700 for this bike. Is that accurate?

Yes, but I bought from my friend who works for Porsches for $1,400. It's brand new still in the box.

Cannondale Bad Boy... right out of the store. I have since removed the warning stickers and reflectors and added lights. I'll have an updated pic whenever I remember to stop and take a photo, as I have been having so much fun riding the thing that I forget to get some shots of her.

New Salsa Vaya Ti Hybrid

Here's my new Salsa Vaya Ti hybrid. I swapped the drops for a flat bar, added XTR 3x drivetrain, 28mm Conti road tires, XT shifters and other things.

She will be my light touring bike/around town cruiser.

So far, so good!

does it count as a hybrid if it started as a drop bar bike?
a neighbor rolled this '85 Peugeot from somebody's trash to my garage. i used it as practice for a two tone powder coating attempt. the tubes were to be green. the lugs clear coated. the clear i used turned very dark, making whole thing look dark green.

CLICK ME FOR WANNABE HYBRID PHOTOS

the rear wheel didn't have the helix freewheel anymore, so i grabbed a Campy-hub'd 27in wheel i had hanging in the garage. i replaced a bunch of stuff, but really didn't want to spend anything..... fail.

the bill:
Peugeot Carbolite 103
Stuff Purchased:
- Tires: $32
- Pedals - $10
- Seatpost: $26 (from England...)
- 7-spd freewheel: $15
- Chain: $8
- Brake pads: $16
- Shifter cable: $5? (from a complete kit)
- Inner tubes: $14
- Powder: $10
- Labor: $10,000

Total: about: $140

Thanks!

Biggest problems after the powder two tone - odd ball head tube inside diameter. I wanted to raise the bars higher than the super shorty that came stock. I think it's like a 21.8mm or 21.9mm. I took some emery clothe to my NITTO Technomic high riser and removed a bit of metal.
And the seatpost was smaller than standard, so I had to get a '70s track seatpost from eBay to get the seat up a bit more.
Next I'll probably add a rack & fenders. Another board member gifted me a Pletscher rat trap rack. I'll "bodge" it to the bike some how...

Novara X-R from the late '80s. Tange MTB butted tubing, converted to drop bars with Tektro cyclocross interrupter levers, Tektro drop bar levers, and 8-speed Ultegra bar end shifters. 48/36/24 triple to an 11-32 cassette. I live in a hilly area and use every gear on the bike. The tires are 38 mm Vittoria Hyper RFX folders.

2015 Raleigh Roper. 525 Reynolds steel frame and fork.

42 x 12-26 nine speed covers it all.

Supple, lightweight Compass Stampede Pass 700 x 32 tires provide low rolling resistance and comfort. My favorite tires by far.

I bought this and set it up for my work commute back in January this year. It now has over 2100 miles on it.
