Michigan Newbie here

Hello

I am new to road bikes. Faced with a need to get back into physically fit shape I've changed my diet and already lost almost 30lbs. I need to look else where from the gym to get the exercise. The speed of road bike is appealing to me.

I'm a decently built guy at 5'11 & 200ish lbs, looking to go another 10-15 or so and build from there.

Welcome to the forums! Use the search and browse around, there is a TON of good information. If weight loss is your goal, check out the clydes/athenas forum.

Hi, Mastiff Jockey,

Often when I see a post from Michigan, I like to say hi, as a native myself, and where I got my start in a cycling lifestyle.

We toured in Michigan and Ontario.

In 1977 we moved to Boston on our bikes, as a bicycling honeymoon from Los Angeles to Washington, DC and then took the train up to Boston…
We visit Michigan about two or three times a year to see family in Macomb and Oakland Counties, and I always bring or borrow a bike.
