Since no one anywhere seems to know anything about Cierra bikes, and I can't find Any info online, I was hoping maybe one of you experts could at least tell something about it from pictures of the frame. What level of quality it seems to be? Maybe what some of the marks mean? All I know is that at least one tube on it is Tange 2, since from what I've read a lot of companies would use a tube or two just to put the sticker of nice tubing on the bike. Anyway, here are some pics...

I think they are made in Taiwan out of Tange CroMo.

Sweet. I thought it seemed like pretty decent quality. I think I've just decided to build a 3 speed rear wheel for it(already have the spare parts), put on some cruiser-ish bars, a handlebar bag, a rear rack, and some fenders. Hopefully it'll make a sweet little daily rider to get to work and pick up some groceries.

I have one of these hanging in my garage. I am the original owner, I purchased it at what appeared to be a traveling bicycle sale on the West side of Milwaukee in about 1982. (Serial Number 3011256) Mine is <almost> like brand new, extremely low miles, light weight and goes like stink. The only serious use it ever received was (1) Uecker's Ride for the Arts, (28 miles) in '82 or '83 and the training leading up to that event. It needs the usual stuff that a (32) year old bike with all original equipment would need, (tires, brake pads and foam touring grips or tape). I think it is about time to start using it again. It has not been "off the hooks" for about (18) years.

Definitely start riding it again! It is a nice bike. Mine must have been in an accident at some point. The fork is a Tange Chromoly replacement. Feel free to post up pictures of yours in original condition. I'd like to see a nice clean version of this bike. Does yours have 27" or 700c wheels? Mine is finally gonna see some use again after sitting for the past couple years. I'm selling my current road bike to fund a bike tour, so the Cierra will be my main road bike again come Fall. Some modern 9sp components are in it's future and I plan to ride it for a long time to come.

Looks like a better quaility frame made in Tawain during the late 80's. Fairly nice frame but without a matching fork it is semi worthless.

I'd rate it as a pretty nice bike. The rear brake bridge reinforcements, H2O boss reinforcements, seat stay end treatments, nice toptube cable guides, all required some extra effort during the build. You won't know until you ride it but I bet it's a good feeling bike. It shouldn't be hard to find a decent fork to go with it.

I would definitely disagree. It's a great riding bike. It doesn't matter to me in the least if the fork is a replacement since the frame is still perfectly strait and unharmed. That and the replacement fork is likely as good or better than the original anyway. A chrome, butted, chromoly Tange fork is a decent fork as far as I'm concerned.

I bought one, in a size too large for me, just for the parts. Mine must have had seen an accident to the rear derailleur hanger, because it had been half way ground off. Same color scheme. It has the Suntour aero shifters, which will probably end up on Ebay sometime.

Any idea
Any idea what this would be worth brand new? I haven't been able to find anything about it online and I have a brand new one from the 80s still in the box and original packaging. Never assembled
