Coefficient Wave Handlebar--Anyone Tried / Use?
They look interesting and with potential for good hand positions. Look similar to, but not exactly like BP4s. Wondered if anyone has tried them or is using them...because now that my bike fits and works perfectly fine I feel the need to mess with it.

Yow. This is one of those products where the form may very well follow a sensible function, but it's just too damn ugly for me to even consider it.

The only people I ever saw using BP4s got them for free. I have a feeling they'd need to actually pay people to ride that bar.

Yikes. Ugly as sin, and more surface area than even normal rounded bars =/= aero, if you care about such things.

Whew... I'm back. Got lost there for a minute. Clicked a link, scrolled, clicked another link... ended up on another site... and another. Seriously, that company looks like they spent all their money on R&D and had nothing left for the website. I'm still not sure what the bar's purposes is. Although, I did enjoy a vintage clip of a TdF descent... I think.
I'm all for odd/revolutionary designs (I have a Lefty and a Grail)... but that product may not yet be ready for prime time.

What was that one product, it was essentially a padded bar that (I think) attached to the seat post, that let you rest your torso upon it? A bike with both Back Up Barz and that thing would have been money.

Unpopular opinion: I find the Spesh Aerofly bars every bit as comical as the Coefficient Waves. Maybe more, because they at least put a bunch of work into the ergonomics of the Wave. The Aeroflys look like a pelican taking off.

Well, straight bar tops are terrible, really. They make your elbows pop out, and force a bend into your wrist. Rotating the wrist brings the elbows in, keeping the wrists straight, so the load is better distributed across the shoulders.
I've learned that I much prefer aerobars, because then I can just rest on my forearms, let my hands completely relax, and I'm more aero at the same time. But I get what the Coefficient guy is after.

Looking at the pics of the Wave bars it seems to me that when riding on the tops the hands will slide down towards the hoods. Not a good idea from where I sit.
A friend of mine has the SBC Aerofly bars. I asked what the heck was he thinking spending that kind of money on the bars when a riser stem will do the same thing for considerably less. Turns out it is all about the aesthetics. He does not like the look of a riser stem. Oh brother! I give him crap about it every time we ride together.

..and what I always wonder is, do those guys never use the tops, or do they just grab straight on to metal? It gets so hot here in the summer that the rubber hoods get uncomfortably hot. The tops would be 100% off-limits.
