Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

It's snowing here too. Just a nuisance amount IMO but enough that the kids got a 2 hour delay.

I see them in the original posting too, so it may be something idiosyncratic with you.

212 N. 12th Street, former home of Sigma Sound Studios, which put out some of the greatest American music ever. The O'Jays, Billy Paul, The Intruders, Harold Melvin & the Blue Notes, Laura Nyro & LaBelle (Yes. Patti LaBelle, before she was famous.), Three Degrees, just to name a few. Even the Jacksons and David Bowie recorded there. Often backed up by members of the Philadelphia Orchestra and others, collectively called MFSB.

Sad.

Maybe they could open a Philadelphia Sound Museum there? All it takes is some money.

The building is allegedly going to be demolished to make way for residences. The inside has already been demolished. Lots of development in the area, especially now since the first phase of the Philly version of NYC's High Line has opened.

Never been to Woodmere. Have to confess that I am bad a taking advantage of many of the city's offerings. Except for a two-year stretch in '99-'01, I have lived in either Spring Garden or Fairmount since 1992, yet I have not once set foot inside Eastern State Penitentiary.

The Eastern State Penn is DEFINITELY worth going to. If you go in non-Summer bring a jacket it's effing COLD in there!

I wonder if I can find that on youtube. Love those dogs.

I'm not one to count my eggs before they hatch, but it appears that Mrs BD is beginning to soften lately on her no-more-dogs stance. At this time I will emit a cautious woohoo!

As much as I love Rotts I'm thinking about a Doberman this time, I always wanted one of them.

I don't see it after a quick look, but it was just neat to see a Rott up against all the typical dogs you would see in that group. It's the 20" group, so he was up against the typical Border type things, and even a Dalmatian. Seeing that bad dude go up against all the svelt competitors, was cool to see. He wasn't overweight, by any means, but he was still a Rottweiler.....

So , I order new shifters for my wife’s trike from Amazon on Saturday afternoon and they just showed up at a friend’s house where we’re staying in Port Charlotte, FL about an hour ago.
