Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

BRR's testing has the V2s being worse than the originals.
We had high hopes of the Graphene 2.0 compound as Vittoria made some bold claims about improvements to all aspects of the compound. We don't perform grip or durability tests, but we have found rolling resistance has actually gone up when compared to the previous generation. It's hard to have faith in their other claims when at least one of their claims about the Graphene 2.0 compound isn't true.

Interesting.. I guess as far as BRR testing goes anyway. Doesn't say much about grip, handling, or manners.
Nonetheless, Merlin has the 'v1' version at net of $35/tire which also includes a free tube if you get the 2-pack (pair) with a current 10% off Vittoria deal. Pretty decent value.

Anyone in the Des Moines IA area and interested in fencing a bike for me? Found it on FB and it looks to be a great deal. I'd pay for any traveling costs + service (as well as the bike of course lol) for anyone interested in helping

40% off some Rapah gear.

Looks like they are mostly clearing out last winter's leftovers but there might be some deals. I didn't look too closely.

Castelli Free Aero Race bibs for $138. Sometimes you can find them for less as a closeout, but these are this year's model, and all sizes are in stock.

Yeah, I was lucky beneficiary of your earlier $85 Sky edition posting.. That said, the bibs are great, though looking at these newest models, I'd be hoping that Castelli is just playing around with the color scheme of the chamois, and hasn't futzed with a good thing?

Just picked up a 2017 Wahoo Kickr for $200 off. I’m done riding in freezing temps when they come around next winter.

Competitive Cyclist has 24-hr Stage sales running during the TdF. Today it's shorts and bibs, most 50%+ off. Any recommendations for double century+ riding? I took my new Assos T.cento_s7 bibs out yesterday and do not like them as the legs ride up and the chamois bunches. Never had such issues with any other bibs or shorts. My best bibs are Rapha Classic, but they only work for me up to 80 miles.

Half-price on many popular helmets today with Competitive Cyclist's TdF sale.

I just ordered a POC Omne but I may go ahead and order another helmet from CC just to try a helmet that I wouldn't normally buy.

weird.. clicked the link, and then tried the general menu "Sale" link.. virtually none of the helmets shown are on sale?

It looks like the website reflects inventory availability in real-time, so fewer helmets are available discounted later in the day.

I still see several good helmets on sale in some sizes and colors.

I guess I understand the reason, but an online shop can't have a "sale" page and have all of the headliners showing 0% off.

[edit] well, gollleee, seems they read this forum and fixed something

Same thing happened to me. I had to refresh my PC browser to get the sale prices. No problems on the mobile site.

BTW, don't worry if you miss the above Competitive Cyclist sale on helmets. It appears many of those models from Smith, Oakley, Bell and others have been deeply discounted on Amazon as well. I'm seeing the same or similar discounts on Amazon. So I'm waiting to try the POC Omne I ordered before deciding whether to order another helmet. I'd like to try a decent aero helmet for cool weather attempts at PRs, and the older models of trendy aero lids are often discounted. Seems to be a very fashion-conscious sub-segment of cycling apparel, so older models won't continue to command high prices.

Castelli Pro Light Wind Vest - $50
https://www.sigmasports.com/item/Cas...Wind-Vest/HYTX

Flouro in small or large
Black in small, medium or large

I own this vest. It is mesh vented in the back, windproof in the front, no pockets, extra light/packable. No nonsense. Just a vest for keeping the torso from getting chilled.
