That's nothing....I am more dangerous than you, I ride my fixed gear bike with platform pedals without any foot retention, now that's dangerous.

At least you have brakes.

And you call yourself dangerous.

That 3k light blinds oncoming traffic so they can't see where they are going causing them to swerve in an unpredictable manner.

Do you ride slicks in the rain?

Good thing we have torturous bike seats to prevent the stupidity from being handed down to future generations.

You all are conflating risk, danger and hazard.

They are not the same thing.

The OP is risky, not dangerous. His bikes are dangerous because they pose a hazard without any safeguards.

Didn't you guys pay attention in English class?

The average lumen output of a single car headlight for a modern car is roughly 3k lumens. Funny that, I’ve never been ‘blinded’ by those 6k lumens and swerved into traffic. Also, if a driver can be ‘blinded’ by those lights through their tinted windshield, that means they are travelling the opposite direction to me, which means they can’t possibly see my lights directly head on. I somehow seem to be able to see all black cars with black wheels and tires, tinted windows after dark, despite the only thing visible are their lights, just like me. This is the same kind of BS as ‘I didn’t see him’ or ‘why wasn’t he wearing hi-vis?’

For basic FYI I don’t have a single 3k lumen light, I have two wide beam 1500 lumen lights with diffuser filters.

are you talking bicycle tires? Bicycles can’t hydroplane, and tires with water shedding tread are near Completely useless on a bicycle. I ride Panaracer gravelkings. They have a ‘file/chevron’ tread pattern, no water shedding grooves. Crazy how those tire types are over a hundred years old and still completely safe. Cheers.

At least you don't ride Salmon style while running red lights and stop signs.

Then, you would be a normal SoCal commuter bicyclist.

You’re better off without the helmet. Risk compensation means you’ll ride more dangerously while wearing it and cars will be less likely to give you room.

Add that to your list.

With two seconds of thought, it makes total sense. Now I feel stupid for asking. Had never heard that term before though.

That nonsense, much less a fellow cyclist. It’s as dangerous as telling people to wear helmets not designed to protect them from a collision with a car, to save their life if they are hit by a car.

That gif is hilarious as hell though, so cheers for that mate.

I bought a cycle helmet. But then found I needed one hand to hold an umbrella. As I text on my phone with the other hand, that leaves me no hands left for my beer. So the hat is now used as a spaghetti strainer.

I didn’t even think of that BF nugget of wisdom. It should indeed be on my list.

It actually means riding against the flow of traffic, usually on the street. Some people mistakenly believe it's safer to ride against traffic.
