I can't tell whether that's a real shopping cart or not. Might be one of those little ones CVS uses. Hopefully they won't miss it.

Optimum levels of crazy. The itemized list had me doing a chef's kiss. That $350 rack looks to be made from two forks and a bunch of metal rods and a slab of plywood.

It may well have triple shifters... but I'm not sure I'd call it a 24 speed.

You could probably tear it down and sell the major components on E-Bay and make money.

Take your sawzall and chop off the head tube, seat cluster, bottom bracket, and rear dropouts and sell them separately. Perhaps someone would want them. Or try heat removal of the bonding on any tube that isn't bent.

Everything else gets stripped, cleaned, and sold.

Wheels or hubs?

Hmmmm. For When You Really Need To Get The Beer Home In A Hurry?

Rossin pursuit road bike (Aero Crono Pursuit Bici Corsa) - $1500 (Richmond)

"I am selling my classic Rossin pursuit road bike (Aero Crono Pursuit Bici Corsa).
This is hand made in Italy in late 1980s or early 1990s.
As it is about 30 years old, there are little paint chips, but no dent, no rust. Also, it is original paint.
My original plan was to restore a bike with new paint, but people recommended leave it as it is.
It is 57 frame size, but people 5'6" or taller can ride it because of its pursuit geometry.
All components are Campagnolo record, except stem, handlebar, brake levers, and saddle.
Wheel set is Shamal tubular (front 650c, rear 700c).
Saddle is Kashimax aero, which is Japanese hand made saddle.
Brake levers has quick release buttons, so it is lot easier to take off wheels.
I rode only one time, so tires are in very good condition. Also, I will give new set of tires with this bike.
So you do not need to buy any tires for at least 2 seasons.
It comes Crank Brothers Eggbeater 11 (used only 1 time).
Front rack (Portland design works) is added for commuting, but never ride this bike since I added the rack because it was not able to store the bike in my office.
Front light is originally for GoPro, and super bright for commute, but never used it as well as front rack.
Rear light is Blink steady. (automatically on and off. motion sensor inside.)

This bike directly shipped from Italy in Spring 2018.
And I added some non classic parts for riding.
This is very unique bike, never seen any same bike on trail, road or bike meeting.

Asking for $1500.
Price is firm.
I would like to take cash, but combination of Venmo and BoA money transferring will be ok.
I personally do not like to take personal check/money order/paypal.

It will be local pick up.
Meeting place will be in public.
It is ok to meet at local bike shop if you want to inspect the bike before pay me, but arrange/hire mechanic or inspector will be on you.

For test riding, you need to bring your driver license as your ID and vehicle registration which has the same address of your license.

I do not want to ship it out. Also, I will not allow anyone other than making payment to pick up the bike.

If you have any question, please email me.
If you come to pick it up and pay as I asked, I am open to take your request."

https://richmond.craigslist.org/bik/...927781843.html

Huh, a build idea for my Ghibli? Yeah, no.

I suspect the original Vitus (metal) fork failed and the carbon is a replacement.

Well, after someone jammed a 130mm rear 8 speed hub into a 126mm aluminum rear triangle, I would not trust the back half of the frame either. Maybe the seat tube and the dropouts are good.

I was not having problems, I just did not like it. I still have to square up the drop outs but have been riding the bike a lot. This morning I switched out a 9 speed 12/25 cassette on the bike for a 12/28 ten speed. I had already changed the big ring to a 46 tooth on the compact crankset and now the gearing is where I want it. It works great with the shifters on friction mode It is a Schwinn Supers Sport DBX that has racks on it, right now just the front, fenders and fits tires up to 37 mm. It is my all-purpose/errands bike.
Steel? Yes. Aluminum? No. Non-oversized aluminum tubes bonded 30+ years ago? Hell No!

https://www.sheldonbrown.com/frame-spacing.html

Frame/Fork Spacing Adjustment

If your frame or fork is made of steel, you can change the spacing to accommodate different hub spacing. This is most commonly done to widen the spacing, to permit the use of a cluster with more sprockets than the frame was built for.Note, if you're not careful, you can do serious damage to your frame or fork this way!

If your frame or fork is made of aluminum or carbon fiber, do not attempt to re-space it: these materials are not suitable for "cold setting."

If in doubt, try the magnet test: if a magnet won't stick to it, don't try to re-space it!

I apologize, I was working on 2 bikes this morning and I somehow got things mixed up mid-post. The part about the cassette switched on the Schwinn has nothing to do with the first of half of my post. The cold setting was done to a steel frame.

Hmmm.

1978 Peugeot UO9, Customized, Updated Vintage Bicycle. - $200 (Chapin)

"1978 Peugeot UO9, Customized, Updated Vintage Bicycle.

This is a perfect example of why the French lost out in the 70’s - 80’s Bike Boom.

The double butted frame not only is made from premium cadre allege tubing with excellent engineering, but also the intricacies, decals and details are amazing. They could not compete with the Japanese & still make a finely detailed bike.

As a vintage rebuilder hobbiest I always appreciate finding a Peugeot to work on. The paint on this one is very good. There are some scratches and marks, but the frame is straight & in great shape overall.

I have upgraded it to a Shimano Sora 8x2 speed with a Shimano 11T-32T cassette. The Shimano Altus big wheel derailleur is my preferred RD when modernizing a vintage bike. It just seems to work best. I kept the Huret front derailleur in use because it is compatible with the Sora & works fine.

The Jalco wheelset are areo, lightweight, straight and true. The Bontrager 700x25c tires are in good shape with little signs of wear.

The center-pull caliper brakes are good.

pedals are not included.

I believe the Peugeot name is still in the cycling business, but mostly sold in Europe.

Excerpt From Wikipedia:

“In 1905 Peugeot sponsored its first Tour de France winner, Louis Trousselier.
After the first Tour de France win, the Peugeot cycling team remained active in the Tour and other European cycle races. Peugeot would go on to become the most successful factory team of all time in the Tour de France, winning the race a record ten times.”"

"As a vintage rebuilder hobbiest..." Hobbiest? As in hobby, hobbier, hobbiest?

And he really needs to read the specs on that frame. It's nice, but much basic-er than he makes it out to be.
