Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Done all three sports competitively, sucked at all but running, but I could never picture doing them together. Especially cycling and running, ugh!

As a fish lover, I am excited to try this place that just opened in the Comcast Technology Center:

https://vernickfish.com/

But at $115, I think I will pass on the Dover sole.

I can't picture running, sirens notwithstanding. Though, to be honest, I barely even cringe when I hear a siren now.

Nothing there seems out of the realm, but I do agree. I may be out of the loop, but Dover sole is good, but not 3 times better than many of the other offerings.

Yeah. I was actually surprised at the prices. Thought they would be higher.

Their original place has a whole rack of Colorado lamb for $110. Tempting.

The new Four Seasons just opened on the upper couple floors of the same building. $600/night. I'll bet it gets some business from Comcast/NBC execs.

Depends how many steaks I have under my sweatshirt and if they're frozen.

I was a pretty good age group runner around here when I began having cord symptoms from degenerative disease in my c-spine. I actually went all numb and tingly from the neck down one night. After the thing was rebuilt in 2008 with two prosthetic discs and a fusion, I've tried to lay off the vertical shock loading. My hands and feet still don't feel normal. So, I'm back to sucking at cycling, which doesn't have a very helpful age group structure, so there's no danger of me finishing the job in a race and ending up steering a wheelchair with my chin. Of course, that could happen on any commute...

Yeah, not as much as I would like. I had to take a couple of weeks off due to traveling to car audio competitions and just other bs that popped up but I'm back on track. I've got around 2,000 miles in so far.

I had a nice, fun ride on Sunday.

That's tough. Brother had RC surgeries on both shoulders after falling twice on the same patch of ice (in Seattle!). He's still not back to much riding. I should see if he'll give me his Madone.

Running is something one does to get away from a mugger with a knife. Swimming is something one does to keep from drowning.

Cycling, however, is the beautiful merging of man and machine.
