Maricon basically translates to Man Flower in South Texas. Spanish slang word that can be interpreted many ways that I’m not going to say here. The incident sounds personal and was probably brewing for awhile.

For those who don't know, maricon in spanish is ***got, not a poof or a queer, or a pansy, the straight up ***got word.

If you not understand the word that I posted above because of the officious keepers of the orthodoxy here, the Yaweh( amongst Jews, you cannot say God's name, so Yahweh is "he whos name cannot be said") word that I said is a "bundle of sticks". Googlate bundle of sticks. And, for the cunning linguists here, its actually a ****phone, (pun intended), two words that are spelled and pronounced the same but that have different meanings.

And yes, as I posted from the first, this was a dispute between two guys that got out of hand, read my posts.

Yep. And equally so when out on gravel mountain roads as you never know who you might run across out there past the locked gates.
A couple of years ago on my birthday ride (I ride my age in miles) I passed a parked car on a gravel road and waved as I went by. On the return route, there were 2 county deputies there at the car. The tires were gone, the windows broken and it had been torched. Obviously several hours before I passed by earlier.
Sometimes you just look straight ahead and keep pedaling.

Sosiagate compay. I couldn’t care less if you are Cuban or not. So hold on to your pasaporte.

I am merely pointing out the obvious fallacy of your post, i.e., that the people seen on the video must be, or are, Cubans because they use the word maricon. Lots of Hispanics use that word as a term of insult. It is not limited to Cubans.

If that is not what you meant to write, entonces lo siento asere, but that is how it came across.

I have spent most of my life in So. California. When I curse, I curse like a Mexican because that is what I grew up around. I am not a Mexican (nor do I play one on TV) yet if you heard me cursing you may assume, mistakenly so, that I am one.

Assumptions are dangerous

Yup, I ride gravel backroads and I know one of these times I will ride on a crime in process and being on my gravel bike I’m vulnerable. Not trying to start a debate but I’m in Texas so I have defense. Everybody does so confrontation is minimization it’s more like. “ Oh **** we got caught or spotted let’s get the heck out of here” Luckily I have never faced that situation and if I never do that will be great. Like you have stated just be aware of the environment around you and 99.9% of time you will have a great ride.

Plenty of Bible Belt in Baton Rouge. Maybe everyone only thinks New Orleans is southern Louisiana?

Trust me, I know the state much better than apparently you do. You should spend some time in SW LA before you make a comment like that. There's great food there, you can hear some French spoken, and you would learn something about the state.

And there's a wiki entry on the Bible Belt as well that you might enjoy reading:

"On the other hand, areas in the South which are not considered part of the Bible Belt include heavily Catholic Southern Louisiana, central and southern Florida, which have been settled mainly by immigrants and Americans from elsewhere in the country, and overwhelmingly Hispanic South Texas."

I'm no native Louisianan, that's for sure. Even though I'm Texan by birth and all that, I've lived in Pineville and my wife is from Baton Rouge. Her side of the family is generations deep in the Opelousas to Baton Rouge area. I get the pleasure of visiting her vast family there on occasion.

In the 1990s I had some boarders in my house that were fresh college grads that were from Houma. Those guys were serious party animals that would go back home once a year for the local Mardis Gras. They were on a krew of some sort, it blew me away how much money they had to come up with to put a float in the parade and buy "grosses" of beads.

There's one thing for sure we got plenty of in Southeast Texas, and that is a ton of LSU graduates, new or old.

Pineville LA? There's good bike riding in the Kisatchie National Forest. I lived in Alexandria for a while.

Some of my favorite bike riding is in the Feliciana Parishes north of Baton Rouge.

Miami is not "Southern". You really don't understand. Its the "stand your ground" law and the stupid entitlement culture of Miami that is the cause.

The southernmost state is not southern? 🤔

Probably rooted in the history of the United States. Florida was Spanish territory when the 13 colonies became U.S. states.

Then there was the U.S. Civil War, of which I'm not sure how much of Florida was involved in that war.

Even Texas (member of the C.S.A. in the Civil War) isn't necessarily considered Southern by people from the southeastern U.S. When I've been in the Carolinas and Georgia, I've been told I'm not from the South, I'm from Texas.

My, how things change. Florida is a very big state.

Whether or not Florida is considered "Southern" depends on where in the state. Parts of extreme South Florida are very Southern, as are portions closer to Georgia and Alabama, but even there it varies by locality—or at least it did when I was there, many long years ago. As far as the "War Between the States" as it's called in Southern regions, or the Civil War (northern regions), yes, Florida was very staunchly Confederate.

As for Texas, to a Southerner, that's not the South, that's "the West."

Well then, they're close enough on enough critical points that we can, at bare minimum, call Texans "honorary" Southerners !!

The motorcyclist will likely be convicted. That other guy that tried that defense in the shooting outside a convenience store lost, too. Oh, and the southernmost state is Hawaii.
