@bobwysiwyg, the bridge did have many strands of lights over it's Missouri spread.

Toston Bridge in Toston, Montana. Pop = small.
Great location to enjoy a quiet break.

Deserve that, knew I had chosen my words poorly as soon as I hit "submit."

Rode a cruiser for the first time in years last weekend. OMG are they bizarre handling ... but perfect for just hanging at the beach.

These pictures are awesome. You know where they were taken, but we don't. Please include a little bit of detail with each picture.

On Saturday I cycled and hiked to the Tokyo Peace Pagoda. It's an Indian style stupa, actually a copy of an ancient Buddhist stupa. A twin copy stands in Dhauli, India. Both of them are modeled after the Stupa of Amaravathi, built by the Emperor Ashoka in the 3rd century BCE.

The stupa stands on a mountaintop, reachable after a half hour hike up a gravel road after a 7 hour bike ride from Tokyo. It was completed in 1974 by Nipponzan-Myōhōji, a Buddhist organisation in Japan working for world peace.

Y'all come down @chuckschreiner! <-- That's southern for "you are invited to be my guest."

It is the Silver Comet Trail which runs from Atlanta into Alabama.

The deciduous forests of the east can seem exotic to those who grow up in more wide open places. On the other hand, I met someone who grew up on the prairie who felt claustrophobic in the woods.

The trees in that photo are actually timber planted on purpose by logging companies who lease the land. It isn't a particularly robust ecosystem in terms of biodiversity or productivity. Quite barren, actually, but it is nice to look at.

The bike photo was taken on the east side of the Brushy Mountain Tunnel looking away from the tunnel. If one were to turn around they would see this....

...or, at certain times of the year at a particular time of the day...
