Jean Paul Routens camping/randonneur bike
SOLD
Hi all- I bought this frameset recently hoping it would fit me but it's just too small. Since receiving it I've cleaned and waxed the frame and cleaned and repacked the headset and bottom bracket. There are a few paint chips, but the paint and chrome are in beautiful shape. I'm going to ask $750, which I feel is reasonable given the condition and the parts included (see below). Willing to ship via Bikeflights for whatever that costs
It's an early 80s Jean Paul Routens camping bike, Reynolds 531ST throughout. 49.5cm CTC seat tube, 52cm CTC top tube.
-Brazed-on mounts for direct mount centerpulls brakes
-Front and rear fender eyelets
-3 sets of rear rack mounts
-Low rider mounts on the fork
-Brazed-on fender mount under the fork crown
-BB dynamo mount on chainstay bridge and shift lever mount behind seat tube for dynamo actuation
-Internal downtube routing for dynamo wire
-Internal top tube routing for rear brake
Comes with French-thread Campag headset in perfect shape and TA loose ball bottom bracket (also French thread), both repacked today. Also comes with TA seat bolt with integrated cable hanger and front MAFAC cable hanger. Also comes with braze-on MAFAC GT brakes in great condition (front and rear, despite the pictures, both cleaned and lubricated). Also comes with a 26.6 JPR seatpost, that has been polished but has twist marks on the side and rear.

Nice frame, I am looking for this type of bike/frame, 53-55 cm, but this one is too small.

@merziac has made a convincing argument for me to build the custom racks for this bike I was planning to. This bike does deserve them. I will do it for the cost of materials for whomever buys the frame.

Please also consider that you MUST get the racks, this is a fantastic opportunity that should not be passed on.

Thanks for everyone who was involved in making this happen! As I said in the other thread it is a rather nice feeling to find such a special frame and in correct size. I will definitely post pictures when it is finished. Now I just have to decide how to build it. But thats big part of the fun.
