Head Tube Badges Recently Acquired Bike & Frame
Early 80's Echelon. These frames were built in Japan by Cherubim, Hitoshi Konno's shop. He was Yoshi Konno's older brother (of 3Rensho fame). They were made for and imported by DIN Industries a California based bicycle parts importer.
I just picked up this new frame from SF Bay Area frame builder Ed Litton last Saturday. He built it on spec for someone several years ago and they ended up not taking it - their loss...
Ed and I had talked about him building me a custom frame for years. When I saw this one hanging on his wall a few months back, I liked the colors and thought about it for awhile. It's my exact size, so why build a new one. The frame is made of a blend of Columbus SL and Tange Prestige tubing.

Speaking Of Paramounts...
The 1959 and 1984 Paramounts were bikes that passed through Stone's Cyclery in Alameda, CA. I helped Dennis Stone sell them online.
1959 Paramount
1984 Paramount. Columbus SL tubing, DuraAce gruppo.
My 1992 Paramount OS. This was one of the last frames built before Schwinn went under.

When I got my Stella its head badge was missing, so I asked @rhm to make one for me based on pictures we found online. A couple of months ago, the proper original Stella head badge came up on eBay so I bought it. Here is the original (left) next to revision 1 from rhm.
He wasn't happy with the rough edges due to material choice on that revision, so he made this one, which I think is the best of the three and will stay on the bike.
Of course, if we're going to talk about roosters on head badges, this one must be the gold standard (though not mine).
Roosters aside, this is my favorite among the head badges in my garage:
I know it's traditionally referred to as the anniversary head badge, but I prefer to think of it as the Heron of Guadalupe.

Some really cool head tube badges here ! I know I've posted pics of the Russian XB3 bicycle headbadge before, the art-deco / Orwellian look is pretty cool....I wish I had one.

Excellent!I know Bruce hung out with these guys from the pics of them leaving for a ride from Jim's shop on Everett and they are likely the reason he defected from Cal for the 10 years but I read he was in Eugene, did he actually work in PDX too?
Either way he was a transplant, albeit a fine one.
