Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Temperature was around 30 degrees last night around 6 pm, wind chill was 27 ish, This lady rides her bike by with a baby in the front seat. The baby had no hat on, was just in pajamas and her cheeks were bright red. I know Im a wimp in the cold but that seemed extreme. My cheeks hurt and I didn’t have the extra windchill affect of being on a moving bike.

Happy hump day everybody.
Baby on a tandem? Don't see that every day.

Timex is making a comeback - they've got some interesting hand-wound and automatic watches coming to market. I'm tempted to get a Marlin auto with either Snoopy or Charlie Brown on the dial.

So is there a general plan I could look at online? I live close to a city rec center with a decent gym.

Did a tougher ride on the Zwifting last night. Some good climbing. The jungle section, to put it bluntly, pisses me off though. I went and got a gravel specific frame/wheelset so I could switch bikes once I got to those roads and it's still like pedaling in dry sand. Your power and cadence stay the same, but suddenly you're doing 12 mph instead of 18 or so. Grossly over exaggerated in my opinion. That was a fairly recent update from them to add more realism, but I think they need to go back to the drawing board on that one. I think I'll just avoid that section for now.

On the good side, I've lost a solid 8 or so pounds since I started back on the bike in mid December. Quite a bit more to go, but at least that's in the right direction.

Is there fake elevation involved or just a surface change?

Hey bampilot06 - did you say that you've got a regular group ride? If so: what day? where? do they welcome riders with questionable skills and modest abilities?
