When you look at the actual number of fatalities the numbers are incredible. Between 12,000 and 56,000 people die on average in the US from the flu, the common, ordinary flu. Last year, an exceptionally bad year, saw 80,000 people die from the flu. Pretty jaw-dropping for me.

For coronavirus the death rate gets dramatically worse the older you are (above 50). It's > 10% for 80somethings.

It's crazy but a tree behind my apartment is showing signs of budding. My family in New York, who are farmers, dread early warm days which trick trees into budding early only to be followed by frost that kills off those buds.
In other news, though I no longer ski, I've always enjoyed the pond skimming contests at ski slopes held at the tail end of winter. I may drive north to the slopes for a bowl of nachos, (my cholesterol is a bit low) a local brew and watch the pond skimming.

I take back what I said about Feedback Sports repair stand. I didn't realize the legs could splay out more. Clamps would be nice instead of screws, but if you're not trying to put a 30 lb. bike on it, it works just fine.

On my way to YouTube to learn how to rebuild Cannondale Backroads headtube shock. This is far and away the best job I've ever had. And we're still working out the pay scale. It will be third world based. It might be as high as US$40 for two five hour shifts. Big money in these parts.

riddle me this bat man. just got back from my ride and about half way through I thought I was gunna have to make the call of shame and get picked up. The skipping got so bad I could no longer garantee forward movement. I changed to my big chain ring front fee and just like that it was fixed! No more skipping.

Maybe. There can be other causes for weak chain tension.
But based on what you say, it does sounds like weak chain tension is the problem. And if there is no other obvious cause (like crud in the RD causing friction at the cage pivot), then increasing spring tension is a consideration.
I hope that helps.
