That ain't no stereotype, that's reality! Driving on the freeways in LA is like being in a NASCAR race.

Thats if you’re lucky. Otherwise it’s like sitting in a parking lot.

That's what I remember most about living in LA. Also, some of those folks in the parking lot are brandishing iron.

Almost time to load up the motor Home! I am going through the freewheels I have for the Medici and I found a 14-28 that should work well. I have a 53 - 41 Super Record set up for the crank. This worked out well last year on the ItalVega so that’s what I am going with. I am leaving the aero brake levers on as I think they are ok now with the Eroica folks. I saw a few last year. The tires are 70x25 race lites that would not have been good in Paso Robles but will be fine on the 35 mile route. I am bringing my 1977 Raleigh Competition GS to ride around on Saturday. As far as this Coronavirus thing we will just have to see. Putting a shout out to fellow Medici riders to maybe get a group picture in.

Just do what davester and I are doing and ride to Cambria. You can bypass all that traffic...

I'm honestly considering not going. I'm a transplant recipient so I'm definitely concerned. Having a compromised immune system and sitting on a plane with 300 travelers from around the world really makes me think it might not be in my best interest.

Legit concerns. Its not so much the ride that is an issue, but getting there, motels, restuarants, etc., that leave questions. I'm a local, relatively, but still have the motel and restuarants to deal with. LA's close, but too far for a day trip. Good luck, whatever you decide.🤞

Anybody with an elevated risk probably should play it safe. It's too bad, but I think that would be the smart move.

Well folks, things with Eroica may get more serious as a large scale gathering or sports event.

We don't have to worry about European or losing Italian participants for Eroica, I just heard that all travel from Europe has been suspended. The NBA has just suspended their season, and MLB may not be far behind with a temporary halt.

This is a worst case scenario of course if the event is cancelled or postponed, but the overall safety of Cambria and or the 1400+ Eroica participants is most important. The routes and rides will always be there for us to ride when it is safe to or individually for now.

https://mailchi.mp/7f2861409a87/nova...8d7e30a3ddNova Eroica and Eroica California are postponed

It is with great regret that we must announce the postponement of the 2020 Nova Eroica and Eroica California scheduled for April 04 and April 05 due to the high risk of the COVID-19 virus. As such, we apologize for a delayed decision but until the recent California state-wide ban on social gatherings of 250 or more people, it has been our intention to move forward.

We are working with County authorities as well as our global sponsors to determine a new date later in 2020. We will inform you as soon as it is confirmed.

All current Nova Eroica and Eroica California rider registrants will be immediately rolled over into the new date. Rider registrants who cannot attend the new to-be-announced date will have the option of rolling over into 2021 instead. As per regulations, refunds will not be issued if you are unable to attend. Please see Article 21 for a complete explanation of the policy.

Vendor registration will also be rolled over to the new date.

It has always been our intention to deliver a memorable and beautiful ride experience – a promise we will keep. The spirit of Eroica and Nova Eroica is one of camaraderie and of meeting old friends and making new. It is of breaking bread, sharing a hug, a laugh and a toast. It’s about giving someone encouragement when they need it most. It’s not just a ride. Eroica is the opportunity to experience the beauty of fatigue and the thrill of the conquest - where you never suffer alone.

For any questions, please contact info@eroicacalifornia.com

It was only a matter of time.

I'm glad they made the call within the time limit to cancel my hotel reservations without a charge. Hopefully I can attend the new (later) date and getting a new reservation won't be a scramble.

I suspect by now most everyone has received an email from Eroica California or has seen the announcement on their Facebook page or main website.

Sadly, it was necessary to postpone. I hope everyone puts effort into helping shut down the Coronavirus spread, and not be touched by its effects. We’ll take a few deep breaths and then see if a new 2020 date emerges, or at worst, we wait till 2021.

Please remember this postponement is also a big blow to Cambria and to the event organizers because it will literally need to be re-planned all over. Please continue to support everyone involved.

PS, if you do want a touch of Cambria to sustain you, consider Linn’s fruit-bin. Ummm, ollaliberry pie!!

+1 on Linn's. Besides the pies and fruit products the restuarant is great and features a display of cool vintage bikes.

Linn’s Always the go to for comfort food. Unfortunately now that I am vegan I don’t partake in a lot of the fare. My family has been going there for many years and have always loved it. Great staff and the owner was so generous at last years Eroica event , I used every morsel of the jam!
