Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Further from my previous post, I just contacted a guy in NYC about the project hoping to get some pictures from the previous prototype and everyone at that company has been asked to work from home for the rest of the week.

I’ve mowed as early as the last couple days of March and as late as the middle of April. I’ve seen no signs of an early mowing season despite a moderate temperature winter.

Just returned from my local Walmart and Aldis. Both had TP. Not skeered in Pekin, IL.

I did a precautionary mow last week. This month i won’t be home much, and didn’t want to have to cut a jungle in april.

My wife tried to get me to cancel our last Y hoops game tonight. I do plan on asking the parents at the game if they'd rather forfeit. The Y should probably cancel this game. If we get one local school case, the cards will fall and we'll end up with no school and no sports. Little league will end before it started.

The end is near, but not here yet. In other news, my wife got to Costco when it opened and says it's mayhem.

One big frustration for me is that we can't test anyone for COVID-19. We have been telling patients that, for now, any testing has to be done through the county health dept.

One of my colleagues said she spoke with the county health commissioner, and even THEY are not testing. They are telling patients to self-quarantine for 14 days if credible risk.

I am told we will be getting small numbers of test kits sometime next week.

Sigh.

One of my friends now is the president of a big cycling club in the Palo Alto area. He says they have Saturday rides with 50 riders and lots of people who have traveled all over the world.

Their group rides are now cancelled.

I mowed, (cut the weeds) last Friday. This happens twice per year. Mrs John watched and said I look like a scrawny old man, so there's that.

I drink buck-a-gallon bottled water because our tap water doesn't taste good. In 5 recent store visits I finally found water. All stores around here are out and i happened in while they were stocking shelves. They have a 5 gallon limit.
Parked my car by an older lady who had at least 50 rolls of toilet paper in her cart.

Even a broken clock is right twice a day.
