Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

My wife and I have 10s of thousands of miles on a tandem and get along pretty well most of the time but I can attest to several relationships that went south after purchasing a tandem. Not saying the tandem was the cause, just saying...

Possibly foolish, but I decided to buy a new set of wheels for the SS from BD. Price was reasonable at $80 for the pair.

The store is closed(since 3/17) and everyone is being paid for their scheduled hours.

My boss is paying me out of pocket for these bikes, so that we get ahead of the game. They plan on opening Friday, but we both suspect that the state or county could change that shortly afterward.

check your texts. I know of an opening.

Just ordered a new tent and Showers Pass 2.1 rain jacket. 25% off the former. 20% off the latter. Buh bye $261 REI dividend.

Anyway, my Rapha stuff arrived.

The Core Bibs seem pretty nice and comfy, though the chamois wants to wedge in my ass when I'm standing. Maybe that'll tone down with a little use and washing.

I'm really liking the new Core Jersey - it's a little more stretchy/supple than the previous and the cut is slender but not restrictive and/or painted on. I might have to order another while the sale is still on (25% off, bringing them to $60).
Enjoy!

I have new club stuff ordered, including pretty nice bibs, but I don’t know when to expect it or if disruptions in China will cause delays. First time in about 35 yrs.

maybe a little. That dividend doesn’t help put $$$ into the cash register.

I could have taken it all in cash and squirreled it away. That aside, I still dropped another $241. 3X more than datlas' $80 wheels.

Normally I'd make a joke, but given the climate right now, probably not. But probably the right decision, and fingers crossed they work out for you. Certainly seems like a good price.

Yeah, I saw him last year and he was in pretty rough shape, still a great show, though.

A little touch of the 'rona might be the last straw for him
