Lambert Grand Prix Professional - Gold Plated
We all need good diversions during these challenging times and I offer this!
Here is a first photo of one of this past winter's projects, the restoration of a Lambert GPP Gold Plated. As far as I can tell, it is stock with the only non-Lambert items being the tires, chain, bar tape and Mavic rims. The tires still hold air - at least up to 60 PSI as I dare not go higher unless I want to repair a sew-up. The bike had been ridden in the 1970s and then hung up in a garage/barn. Received the bike with a good deal of corrosion, dirt and grime and carefully cleaned it without trying to remove too much of the plating. It does have the original Death Fork along with a spare set of wheels (Mavic rims with Lambert hubs).
Fascinating history attached to this unusual bike. I'll post more photos later today as the lighting conditions improve.
BTW, any idea what this might be worth?

Do a quick check on the fork to see it it's a 1st generation. Run your finger under the crown. Can you feel the hole for the bottom of the steerer? If no, it's the real deal. Best death fork ever made. (I bought a Bell Biker 8 months before mine broke. Only reason I'm not pushing daisies.)

Love the crankset and pedals on this 15 speed
Original cloth tape.
Genuine Lambert suade saddle.
Had to clean the daylights (and animal hair) out of the RD and Freewheel. It still shifts!
Lambert hub laced to Mavic rim.
Rear hub, dropouts and freewheel cleaned up well.
Both front and rear Clement Elvezia tires hold air - at least up to 60 pounds!

Apparently it's the original one, looks to me like a re-branded Huret. The FD appears ti be a re-branded Simplex.

I don’t recall the lugged bottombracket.
the derailleurs mimicked a lot from others but were unique and probably too costly to produce. I am pretty sure they evolved away from them quickly. An interesting undercapitalized adventure.
