Guerciotti Mondrain w/Pantographed Campy parts...

I have been watching the classic and vintage market TANK (along w/ my stocks)

This seems like a good buy on ebay. https://www.ebay.com/itm/Guerciotti-...8AAOSwr-xeU26w
It has the coveted Columbus sticker and Campy components. Chrome lugs.

This looks to be a nice deal. Does anyone know anything about the Mondrain model? Does this appear to be refinished- repainted? Can't tell- maybe jap (105, 600) hubs?

Seller is accepting offers. Hmmmm...

Hubs appear to be Campy Tipo low flange.

As for the $1200 for the complete bike it becomes a bit of a toss up. The group has value, and maybe more than the frame, but together they are close to current values of them combined. It is likely that this about the value this one would have as a complete bike, but if it doesn't fit you it is then only wall art. HTH, MH

It's $750 plus shipping.
I'd offer $600, have the seller pay shipping!

Maybe first establish exactly what's included in the auction?

The way I read it the BIN does not include wheels, brake calipers, derailleurs and crank set.
(and probably some other bits and bobs)

My bad. Deceptive listing at the least. Yes, I would probably have noticed the "terms" if I were to bid. In real estate if it's attached, it's included.

It's a repainted Columbus SL frame. It has older spooned/printed seat stays and it looks like only one bottle cage. Those things would put it at 1983-84.

to me the market for steel frramesets has collapsed (and, yes, posting is a bit deceptive, though could be english is 2nd language issue) and 750 or even 600 seems high to me unless its really special. Just my couple of cents worth of opinion.

I don't know what era that SR crankset and RD are, but that is the look that I like. Classic Campy.

Mondrian is a reference to the paint scheme, inspired by abstract artist Piet Mondrian. Mondrian influenced paint schemes became popular starting in 1984 when the newly established La Vie Claire team of Bernard Hinault adopted a Mondrian style jersey design. In the mid-to late 1980s there were a number of bicycles with Mondrian liveries including but limited to models from Hinault, Look, Rossin, Tommasini and even Nishiki.

I'm not sure if this is a repaint or not. While I haven't seen this particular livery on has to consider that the seller is from Italy and that the European models could be different. Ten Speed Drive, the USA importer and distributor took over painting and decal application on imported Guerrciotti frame starting in late 1985 and even earlier were calling the shots on imported frames for thing like paint schemes and features. I certainly wouldn't rule out the possibility that this is a European model with factory paint.

Having said that, it does appear to be a mid-1980s model with Columbus SL.

Given the current C&V trend towards more cushioning, I would think that this would be the least coveted of Columbus tubesets among members.
