Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Insurance just funded a 2019 Cube C:62x Litening race teamline I found for a steal on floor clearance. 7.3kg and Di2 with no out of pocket.

Proper fit is next week and I need to source some matte carbon bottle cages to match the naked black carbon on the frame

I don't know if he took offense to the size of the cog sprockets. It could be because of the Mega Range words on there. It doesn't look classy on a vintage chrome bike.

Chrome bike needs a silver drivetrain. Black rings are cool, but they need some black rims to not look out of place. Plus, BITD, black (or rather, hardox) rims was a sign you were looking at a proper machine.

Never mind that they braked like crap, and the hardox gave you stress risers, and perfectly good rims were available in silver, IMO that old school brake wear that's more obvious at every spoke looks badass. Normal ano would wear all the way through pretty quick, but with hardox, the rims would show that pulsed wear for most of their life.

Then you'd pull a spoke through the rim thanks to the hardox.

I like the picture of that Holdsworth. It doesn't present the details of the bike itself very well, but the colours and the lighting just work well for my eye.
