Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

So do we. Especially around December, the whole office turns into a ghost town at normal times, I can’t fathom how it’s going to be this year.

We are allowed to roll over 5 days at my company, last year nobody took vacation (startup) so they relaxed the restriction. Assuming it will happen again this year since nobody is taking vacation.

I lose anything over 288 hours, which is 2 years worth of accrued vacation time. I have about 40 hours to burn before July 1st.

Fun MTB ride today. Doing a metric tomorrow morning if I can drag my ass out of bed early enough. Winds are supposed to get pretty strong later in the day.

I take all of my vacation days, usually, but that's not hard to do when you only have 10. I got 15 this year after my 5 year anniversary. Still probably going to take all of them. We can roll over half of our yearly allowance. My total 5 days of sick time is a use-it-or-lose-it thing.

Currently I get 3 weeks, I can also buy a week, which I do. I can roll 1 week until June or July (cant remember which) if I dont use it by then I get a check. I'm not eligible for my 4th week till after 15 years. 6 years to go!

Now I don't even remember what our vacation policy was because I always made sure to take all of mine.

It's been a long time since I worshipped the porcelain. A feat everyone should experience at least once.

And lately I've been thinking that an amputated, and re-attached, finger gives a healthy world view. Maybe not for everybody though. But it's not as bad as it sounds. Nice timing, as I can't ride anyway. Being a senior citizen, they don't want us leaving the house for ANY reason. Some stores don't allow us in.

And today marks the first anniversary of the beginning of my first tour. Who knows when the next one might begin? It will almost certainly be here in Yucatan. I am not going north this year

I changed the water that had been in my emergency bottle for weeks.

Time to ride.

So some of my lovely family is going up to that cottage. "Just for day trips", as if the virus only transmits during sleep.

I truly hope there will be nothing to report.

In other news, to effect quick passes of other cyclists out this morning, I did dial it up to 400w to pass several times. It doesn't actually feel like much of anything for that duration. Not sure what that guy was on about.
