Based on the lovely assortment of bicycles I know you've shared here in the past, I'm getting the feeling that once you have a custom frame made that bike may inevitably become a favorite... It's something I've been pondering as of late. Do you in fact ride many other bikes any more, or has the Woodrup taken the fore? If so (or if not) why would you say so? Cheers!

Haven't posted here in awhile but have been riding since the end of January. And, riding much more than last year when I was recovering from cervical fusion surgery. We moved in October and I had a tough choice to make - which of the bikes to keep out until my shop is built. One of them ended up being my 1984 mid-level Gitane Sprint. It's just one that seems to be a go to bike.

I don't know what the deal was, but I had my worst ride in like forever today. About 45 miles, but at the halfway point my midsection, neck and left arm were really aching and with 15 miles still to go my legs went dead on me. I can't believe I made it home. Now I ache all over and am crawling into bed.
Just wanted to mark this day for posterity; I hope I never have another like it (and yes, I stayed hydrated and fed)!

Not sure if we'll be able to swing it this year but I would definitely like to shoot for 2021 if folks are up for it. Make it a 2-3 thing again with multiple rides. I have a 85 mile, paved route mapped out. There's also the Hiawatha trail that requires a headlight in the old railroad tunnels but I'm told is a lot of fun to do.

I can pack a bunch of food and anything else I may want/need for a self contained trip. I do take social distancing seriously these days.
Most of the other bikes I have are more fun to ride but this one, at this time, is more practical.

I don't know what the deal was, but I had my worst ride in like forever today. About 45 miles, but at the halfway point my midsection, neck and left arm were really aching and with 15 miles still to go my legs went dead on me. I can't believe I made it home. Now I ache all over and am crawling into bed.

Drillium Dude Sorry to hear about your tough ride. Been there, too. Sometimes the body doesn't cooperate. Take care of yourself, get some rest, and hopefully you'll be back to your old self again.

Weirdest weather here lately. Every really nice day is sandwiched in between a couple of rainy ones. Yesterday was lovely, but the 30 mph headwinds made it tough to get back home.
It was also New Crank Day for the Merckx. Replaced the standard 7410 with a nice Sugino TD series 48/34. Really woke up the acceleration and climbing!
There's a whole series of very old murals painted on the old Lorton Workhouse grounds. They're in bad shape and sometimes hard to figure out, but they do have a certain appeal.
Note the detail in the eye of the face on the right:

Thank you! I lowered the slingshot stem and put the handlebar in right-side-up. This gives the bike a more traditional look, and keeps the grips in the same place. For just poking around, exploring, being a 10 year-old, this bike is perfect.

Today's WWII Liberation Day here. I had a day off, and after lazily hanging around all day I felt obligated to at least go out for a short pre-dinner ride.
This is the Fort near Uithoorn. It is one of the 42 forts that make up the Defence Line of Amsterdam. An obsolete and expensive project that made it to UNESCO World Heritage status.

They say the air quality is much improved given the much lower volume of auto traffic these days. I can confirm with this view of the Boston skyline on today’s ride, this from Peter’s Hill in Arnold Arboretum.

I took the '76 Moto GT out for a quick 21 miles after work today. I can't think of the last time we had a stout north wind this late in the year in DFW. It certainly made the return leg easier.

Thanks everybody; I think I picked up a 24-hour bug or something like that. Had a rough night, but felt good enough this after to do a leisurely 25 with no lingering ill effects. Good deal 
The weather is improving rapidly and this weekend is supposed to go from 75 to 80 between Friday and Saturday. I have a picturesque adventure planned for one of those days.

Got in a familiar 40mi. East Sammamish Rd has such a wide shoulder with good pavement and 35mph speed limit for the enemy road hogs - it was beckoning to me on a nice day.
